The Batman film just got Matt Reeves as a director, the guy who makes the new critically acclaimed Planet of the Apes films. Even if Justice League turns out bad, it has no affect on the Batman film.

if Affleck did jump ship maybe Warner could ask Nicolas Cage if he's not too busy?

Assuming this has any truth - - it could really be indicative of how Justice League is going.

Yeah, that'll happen regardless...but if JL gets the same reaction DC's last two movies got last year...we'll probably see a recast for Batman.

I doubt that, he's already signed on for one Batman film. After that, who knows.

But if Affleck quits now it's not going to save his career, it will trash it. He will be known as the man who walked away from Batman. He will be the biggest loser and laughing stock in Hollywood in recent memory. You don't hang up the cape until you make your mark. It will be a disgrace to the industry. Sad!

The real laughing stock will continue to be WB/DC. How badly do you need to f*ck up to make someone walk away from being BATMAN?

^ i concur.

no one should fault Ben for wanting to jump from a speeding car that's headed straight for a cliff.

i'll bet Christian Bale is happy he declined being a part of this mess?

Well out of curiosity what does Ben Affleck have lined up outside of DC movies? What would he do if he walks away from Batman?

The guy is in his 40's, he's not some young spring chicken anymore. 40 is "over the hill" in Hollywood, and pretty soon he'll only be able to play older grizzly man roles in movies.

40 is over the hill for women in Hollywood, not men. ****** but that's how it is.

i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that WB asked Christian Bale to reprise the roll of Batman just after Dark Knight Rises, long before BvS was even a thing.

but then again there were reports that it was just a rumor

who knows what to really believe?

but at the end of the day ..... none of it really matters anyway.

You act like Affleck didn't have a career prior to being Batman in one movie.

If he does step away from Batman it's probably due to not wanting another backlash scenario like BvS.

Would you rather have Ben in one solo movie or recast now and get someone for a series of movies?

I'd rather he be in at least one solo movie of course. I don't see why he would give up before that, he played a good Batman so far. I want to see a whole movie about him.
