Yeah, They are not quite, One is a shark, the other a hammerhead shark, Either way, They are both different kinds of Sharks.

As for Alopex and Ninjara, They are simular except that one is a Snowfox and the other a regular fox.

Still not that much of a difference.

Visually they're similar. Other than that, not much.

Armaggedon was a time-travelling shark from the future with robotic legs (if I remember correctly) that is more in line with Fishface than Bludgeon. Bludgeon is simply a hench mutant right now.

Alopex wasn't even a mutant, she was an anthropomorphic fox creature, a warrior, and also a homicidal ethnic-cleaning maniac in her earliest appearance. Then a love interest for Raph. Alopex is a hench mutant who first tried to hunt down the Turtles, served Shredder loyally, and then rebelled and is now an ally and potentially a further servant of Kitsune. Only similarity is the (meh) fox/Raph shipping.

The characters have nothing in common but appearance.

By contrast, Mondo Gecko is still a stoner skater lizard with attitude and punk rock t-shirts serving on the Mutanimals. Personality, allegiance, and appearance are all the same.

And THAT is why IDW didn't name these characters Armaggedon or Ninjara.

If they are bringing in Ninjara I'd like a much different look from Alopex. To be frank, I and likely many others just considered Alopex a faux-Ninjara, especially given her link with Raph.

If they bring in Ninjara, They would have to change her origin, She was never a mutant, But I'm ok if they make her a Mutant in the IDW universe.

That's only assuming they continue the "mutants only" trend. I mean the original Mutanimals had what, two mutants on the team?

Probably, The majority of the characters were turn into humanoid animals via magic, one being born of a human mother, And others being aliens from another planet.

Heh, Ninjar (male version?) in that style reminds me of one of the characters in Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comic (pre-Worlds Collide, of course).

Only just got my copy and reviewed it.

http://www.superdstuff.com/2015/03/t...animals-1.html

I have little past experience of the various characters on display here, and Null is an entirely new thing to me. But I'm really interested based on this first issue.

It's a really well written piece, taking on some mature subject matter with decency. No 'look at what I'm doing to be relevant' nonsense.

No, E'ro'chk from Mirage vol. 4. Although as far as I'm aware Lindsey is the first LGBT+ character in this series.

I agree, fantastically executed. I know people will brush this off saying it's not real etc but I really felt for him and it takes a skilled writer/artist to make me feel that way. Kudos to the team who worked on this issue.

Not just people here, but I agree with your point.

Although, it is ironic seeing that TMNT is basically about people who are treated badly because they're different...

My problem was never that Kirby was happy; it's that the book very clearly assumed that this was the only possible reaction.
Yes, I remember that letter. You did make a good point, I just wish they had a scene where they talked it over with him and gave him autonomy. I guess they didn't want to disappoint him if it didn't work but he's a grown man, he can handle disappointment especially if his family are there to support him.

Not saying you should change your moralistic views on whether or not you believe suicide is right or wrong; I'm saying you're reading a story and this character does not hold your same views... and as others have said, it is a brilliant, moving, and thought-provoking direction for the story--so I say, nor should he hold your same views.

I applaud IDW for going here, regardless of any personal opinions I have on the matter. This is an awesome story.

Mutagen Man is the most tragic TMNT character ever and only a serious comic could have gone with this kind of serious approach.
I have to agree with both of them. I love this portrayal of the character so damn much. It brings back memories of Quasimodo or Gwynplaine from The Man Who Laughs, it feels as though Victor Hugo started writing for TMNT.
