I'm looking forward to it. It's a shame the colorist on the cover missed the Donatello arm and colored it all brown. But that's a small mistake I suppose. Interesting to see that Usagi seems to remember the Mirage turtles and is now meeting the IDW turtles.

If you mean the cover A, then it's because Donatello has been given full forearm guards, not the split elbow/wrist guards that the other turtles have.

Based on the Stan Sakai artwork, that doesn't seem to be the case. Now I'm not saying I'm must be right here, but based on the fact that Donatello doesn't appear to have any forearm guards in any covers. Also, the other Stan Sakai covers has the part I'm talking about in green which lends itself to my argument that it was a minor coloring mistake.

I was basing it on the fact both arms are the same, and it isn't one arm that is like that, suggesting it was deliberate. But yes, it could still be an error, but it looks like the arm guards are inked full length too, given the lines across the arm as they go down.

I get where you're coming from with that. But this picture which I'm pretty sure was colores by Sakai himself makes me pretty sure it's the way it is suppopsed to be. And on cover A it does kinda looks like the brown part I say is supposed to be green has some musculature drawn like on the other turtles. And this third picture shows Donatello with the parts colored green by the same colorist, Tom Luth.

Looks like full arm guard to me, especialy since where the "skin" would have been had t been a coloring aerror seems to have a stitching there.

And all covers have the Turtles with different details, one have the shell bridges designed similar like the Nick Turtles and one have a different plastron design where the lowest scutes end in wider points then the other covers. The belts are different as well, as in the cover where Leo fights Usagi, Don's shoulder strap is different then the other covers. Raph's sai have wrappings like a sword on the handles in the Leo v usage cover, but no wrappings in the where they team-up and a whole different crossguard design in the posing cover.

If you look at the "stitching" around the area of the forearm you can see that all the turtles all have it since it's more likely Sakai showing a muscle line. That would mean that when Sakai himself colored his piece he made the mistake of making it into skin, and that Tom Luth made the mistake of coloring it wrong on the other cover I posted.

So I would say that's 2 covers vs. 1 cover which makes me believe it was a mistake. But yeah, I will agree that the turtle/outfit designs of Sakai isn't all that consistent.

No, that's the muscle line of the forearm with hatch shading. Donnie's arm have a definitive square shape that looks like a large stitch like they often have on their belts when it's not in a obi knot.

Are you only talking about his right arm? Because the left one is most likely just hatch shading. Which would make it a color mistake but I'm 100% on the right arm but the evidence lends itself to it being a mistake too since we haven't seen an arm guard anywhere else on him.

But I suppose it will be proven when the comic is out and we can see more of Donnie's arm. I mean unless we want to argue about it being only on the cover. Or we could just ask the colorist or the artist.

It's a coloring error. I will not be convinced otherwise.

There had been talks from the very beginning when Nickelodeon first got the series, but we never came to terms. However, this is the last season of the current incarnation of the Turtles and we just had to have Usagi in there. He was in the original 1990s series from Fred Wolf and, of course, he guest-starred in quite a number of episodes from the 4Kids series in the early 2000s. So, Usagi just had to make an appearance in the third incarnation of the TMNT on TV. We came to very good terms and we get along great with Nickelodeon.
Heh, I love how he said, "Usagi just had to be there." I'm glad they managed to get Usagi into the Nick cartoon before it ended.

Am I missing something? I'm looking at every cover provided up in this topic and don't see a single brown Donatello arm...

Look at Donatello's arms compared to the other turtles. They all have three rungs of guard by the wrist, and a large one on the elbow. But the space between this on Donatello is coloured brown, not green. Has he got longer whole arm guards, or a colouring mistake?

I would say longer arm guards. To my eye it doesn't look like ordinary arm that was suppose to be green. It looks like arm guards that are drawn and colored brown. I think Donnie with his lanky arms has had enough nicks and scrapes and has done something about it. At least in that particular cover pose, I haven't back read this thread at all so.

Longer arm guards.

All the other Turtles' arms transition straight from the guards to their hands, why should Donatello be any different? The bottom/left one even has a bit of padding sticking out, it wouldn't look like that if it were the flesh of his wrist (unless he's been chowing down on more pizza than his bros, that is).

Anyway, dropped by the thread to ask: when does this come out?

Oh thanks. I don't think I noticed. The way people were talking were like he had an entirely brown arm or something.
