Well, If he'll become leader then there was zero purpose of making Raph leader in the first place. Anyways, I'll still give it chance, the animation looks good, and the tone and colorful backgrounds are refreshing.

I don't get this train of thought. (And I don't mean specifically you, but that sort of thinking especially for people who found it the absolute deal breaker).

Is it really that offensive to have some character development?
I think it's brilliant that they start out as an incompetent team (probably due to Splinter's laziness) but they eventually find their own roles as they grow and gain experience.

What will suck is the creators making Leo the leader sooner than originally planned because of peer pressure and people unable to cope with a few twists. Same with every other little change that was bound to be temporary.

Here's hoping they make Mikey the leader before Leo and give him fans for weapons just to spite people. -_-

Nooo. It's great to see some development, but there's ways to do that without making the other characters look well..bad? Newfan is a leo fan yet even she noticed what they said in the video wasn't a good look for Raph's character.

But I won't lie, when I first heard of the changes I was like wtf.

But personally I wanted them to go through with the Raph the leader thing. Since the 2007 movie, I was awaiting a time where his leadership qualities could be properly expressed. Heck, I thought I'll be cool for both Leo and Raph to co-lead. But I can only dream lmao.

But what I'm hearing in the video, there's huge possibility that Raph will have to fail for a change to come. So I think there's zero point in making Raph the eldest and the self-appointed leader. Why not just have them fight as a team and then later down road discover that they need someone with strong leadership skills?

Though I can understand how some Leo fan's felt about Leo's position being taken away, I was interested in the "what if" in this interpretation, cause I'm all for changes. I mean it just depends on the person.

Raph/Leo dynamic makes perfect sense and is a great way to shake up the usual. The show is taking place sometime before any of the other incarnations have ever shown. (Besides flashbacks)

I also really think they are going to be sticking with their guns for the ENTIRE first season. I mean that they will be sticking solely with their original villains/characters. I do not see any old villains coming in until maybe the season finale of season 1. But I really don’t expect to see popular villains like Kraang, Baxter Karai etc. until season 2. And the shredder until maybe even season 3.

I agree, I think Baron Draxum will be the main villain for season one, while the two foot mystics will be head of the New York foot in season 1, creating the Origami ninja, and Shredder will not appear until season 2 or 3. Nobody should be in a hurry to get things to status quo, we should be able to sit back, and enjoy the ride.

There's no chance Shredder doesn't appear by the end of Season 1, the show has 26 eps in its first season, (and keep in mind each ep is 11 minutes), so he'll likely appear by the end of it at the latest.

With the new viliian, I think he looks really good in motion.
I was iffy with John Cena as the voice, but after the teaser I thought he matched well.

When they said 26 episodes, do they literally mean 26 shorts or 26 half-hour episodes consisting of two shorts each (total of 52 short episodes)?

If anything, Leo looks like the most badass of the team.

Leo has always been my favorite Turtle alongside Mikey, and I'm really liking this version of Leo. Naturally, I want him to be leader again at some point. But for now, I'm enjoying the ride.
I do feel Michelangelo to be a tad bland.... But again, it's a personality that's most likely going to develop over the show.

Leo's my 2nd favorite turtle. But he can switch to #1 depending on the interpretation. I don't think they are handling him badly either. He's still intelligent, he's quick witted, and has a nice design. And more than likely he's still going to get developed as a character with the leadership thing.

But oh boy, it looks as if they turned Raph into this stereotypical meat-headed brute. But I can still see some of his more positive attributes. Being a goofball is not necessarily a bad thing. It can be a lovable trait in a character.
He actually comes off semi innocent in the few scenes from the teaser and BTS. I can't even picture this version as angry. Which is fine by me. With a few exceptions, no one really knows how to write Raph's anger, so I think they should get rid of it, or at least tone it down alot.

I don't know about Mikey yet, I haven't seen enough of him. As long as he's isn't written badly as in the 2012, then it's all good.

I liked 2012 Mikey at first...but then I felt he got dumber as the seasons went on....I like how this Mikey is going to be a optimistic artist ^_^

Unless it's purely coincidence (which may well be the case), they're taking cues from the old comics on those characteristics. So I'm all for it too.

I was worried for the first 10 seconds of the preview, but they won me over.

The animation looked really budget initially; especially that nasty 'motion tween' where the Turtles all come together in that circle, and the mouth shapes were obviously stretched in that cheesy 'Flash' way - but...

I really like the more dynamic stuff with the extreme perspective and the really loose art style. By the end I was pretty happy. The voices work for me, the music is pretty good, and it all came together.

hum ... the animation does not shock me personally. sometimes the trailers are created while there is not yet everything that is set up. so, it would not surprise me that it is a little more dynamic once in front of the television (or corrected for the edition bluray, as do a lot of animated)
After, if they do not have the budget (seen how the 2D artist are so poorly paid _ said by one of my friend who work on rick and morty serie) and imagine that they have a limited time to work. it would not surprise me if they make "sacrifices". Even so, I consider nickelodeon must have money to ensure the best.
