It'd be refreshing to see The Rock in a movie for once, especially with his weird twin clone brother Dwayne Johnson (AKA Liquid Rock) running amok and starring in everything under the sun.

Honestly though, if that Metal Gear movie is happening, I want the Rock to play Vulcan Raven.

That could be good. I hate the guy but for some things he'd be pretty good.

Dead serious. We're long overdue on that. And there's so much you can do with it, too. I can't even believe that the only outside media that Rock's ever had was a goddamn Game Boy game. It was only the most popular, longest-running war comic in history, is all.

I guess one could argue that it'd just be "Saving Private Ryan" with a bit more stylization, but who cares? We get a new WWII movie every 5-10 years. Why not Sgt. Rock? It's damn good material.
Who the fvck is that? I've never heard of this character, ever.

Remember when sh*t like "Jonah Hex" was the standard? Seriously.
Oh Lord, I completely forgot about how bad CBMs used to be. Jonah Hex proving once again that Megan Fox is hardly ever the worst part of a terrible, terrible movie... but she's also a great indicator that the movie is gonna suck.

A canary in the comic book movie coalmine, our girl Megan.

Uncultured heathens.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt._Rock

Quote:
Sgt. Franklin "Frank" John Rock is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Sgt. Rock first appeared in Our Army at War #83 (June 1959), and was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert. The character is a World War II veteran who served as an infantry non-commissioned officer.

Sgt. Rock's prototype[1] first appeared in G.I. Combat #68 (January 1959). His rank is not given in this story; instead, he is merely called "The Rock". The Rock returned as a sergeant in Our Army at War #81 (April 1959)[2] named "Sgt. Rocky" with his unit, Easy Company (the precise US Army infantry regiment to which Easy belonged was never identified during the history of the character). In this last prototype appearance with the Easy Company (as opposed to the nameless infantryman with a nickname, as he was portrayed previously), the story was actually written by Bob Haney, but the character's creator, Robert Kanigher was the editor. He would go on to create the bulk of the stories with Joe Kubert as the artist. In issue #82 (May 1959), he is called "Sgt. Rock" (name only) and by issue #83 (June 1959), he makes his first full appearance as Sgt. Rock.

Powers and abilities
- Rock is a crack shot, able to shoot down several German fighter planes with a single submachine gun, and able to throw hand grenades with amazing accuracy.

- Rock is a highly effective close combat fighter, mostly shown using a style of streetfighting mixed with boxing.

- Rock seems to have close to superhuman endurance and strength, surviving large number of gunshot wounds, fragments from hand grenades, exposure to freezing water and other hazards. Rock's powers seem to be more realistic in Bob Kanigher's stories than in Joe Kubert's.

- Rock's "Combat Antenna" is what he calls a kind of sixth sense to warn him of impending enemy attack. This usually allows him at least some time to warn Easy Co. even if it rarely allows them to get out of harm's way entirely.

- Rock also has a heart. The one thing that (almost) had him breaking down is when the Nazis scraped the very bottom of the barrel and were sending teenage boys out against Rock and his men.
He occasionally still shows up in modern-day stories. You've most likely seen him someplace and just not known it.
Quote:
A soldier, implied to be Sgt. Rock played by Blair Penner, is featured in the first season finale "Legendary" of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The show's co-executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated that they have a plan to bring in Sgt. Rock eventually.
Happy to be of service.

I maybe could have worded it better but I wasn't sure how. Either way, I didn't mean any offense by it. Only that things definitely weren't as bad as they may have seemed to you and to others.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Didn't mean it as a shot.
Is okay man, this place just has a way of being as toxic as cyanide., so I get defensive, sorry. Is all good.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

I feel like I'm about to be hit with another "is he / isn't he?" Ben Affleck rumor, LOL.

I think this movie is going to be so different from what it was originally conceived as when it finally, if ever, comes out

Y'know, I'm okay with that. He's not Karl Urban, but I'm excited to see what he brings to the cowl!

An emo actor from a chick flick, not a good sign. But who knows, back in the 80's people laughed at the idea of Michael Keaton being Batman given he was known for comedy at the time and he turned out great.

That's a very weak choice. The only time I've ever liked this guy's acting was when he played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which is actually my least favorite film in the series.

"Goblet of Fire" is my favorite book/movie from the franchise. With that being said what a horrible casting choice for Batman. I really do hope they prove me wrong.
