Lol, pretty slimy of you, but okay. The day will come when this nonsense will get retconned, probably by IDW itself. Lol. Make sure you buy a lot of copies. Should be worth at least half cover in 5 years. 😂

Wow, you can't go a single post without veering into gratuitous, childish insults. Nice. You must be fun at parties... Take a chill pill, kid.

Indeed Tommy. Dial it back a bit. Again, just because you dont like certain aspects of the franchise doesn't mean those who do are wrong.

Jester, he insulted Peter Laid. I think that’s slimy, don’t you? The guy who carried the torch for over a decade, alone, trying to keep the brand alive?

Isn’t there a rule against bashing him?

Let's examine that claim for a moment, shall we? Here's my post from before:

Now, as I've repeatedly stated in this forum, I'm not very well versed in other iterations of the comic other than IDW and Archie but I had a vague notion that the greater part of the franchise is now out of Laird's control, so I looked it up just to make sure before I posted and got this:

Well... I guess Wikipedia is "insulting" and "bashing" Laird too, right? Or are you that offended by facts?

By all means, keep trolling.

If you, by your own admission, only know IDW, or Archie, you really don’t know turtles.

I remember the sale, and the announcement well. No need for crowd sourced info. I lived it.

Let’s just maybe not go around pretending the creator shouldn’t be considered, when doing something that broke apart their friendship and devastated the brand. I don’t need the fathers permission to marry his daughter, if she’s over 18, but it’s never a bad idea, to tip the hat.

I have spoken.

I'unno, they post different.

Although I was previously under the impression that all Canadians were jolly. So I don't know WHAT I know, anymore.

Of course not. After all, what constitutes and doesn't constitute TMNT is limited to what you personally approve and doesn't offend your sensibilities.

If you, by your own admission, are aware that Peter Laird sold away his right to have a say in all of this, you really don't have a reason to keep going on about Jennika. Let's just maybe not go around pretending he cared that much whether a female Turtle was introduced, since apparently the whole notion came with a price tag on it. He can like it or dislike it but the franchise is in someone else's hands now. The creator shouldn't be considered in this specific matter after he said "I really don't care what you do so long as I get a fair shake in this deal", no.

And good thing you mention getting the father's permission to marry his daughter, since this particular daughter has two fathers, one of them is still involved, and he seems thrilled with the idea. Part of me would love nothing better than for Eastman himself to come over here and put you in your place, but on the other hand I'm dreading to see what sort of insults you could cook up for him.

You seem to want to substitute the creative minds behind the comic and/or have a final say in things like you're one of the creators. It doesn't work that way.

Oh my. There will be no putting me in my place, by Eastman or yourself. This is getting silly. You’re all upset, but you were the one to disrespect Laird, and still do so. Perhaps you’ve never been in a position where, the thing you built, is being disassembled infront of you, and you can do nothing but watch. Its hard to take, and I hope you never have to endure it.

You also didn’t seem to read the part where I pointed out that, despite his apparent love for a female turtle, Eastman was not involved, aside feom championing the idea, according to Waltz.

I’d also point out, Eastman championed the 2014 abominations. He has stood beside all TMNT, no matter the quality, and endorsed it. Laird has not, and maybe, one could speculate, that was precisely what caused the rift so many years ago. Selling out vs integrity.

On the flip side, merchandising is very important, and new blood and ideas are integral to growing any IP. Maybe Jennika becomes a huge hit, and the franchise rockets back to blinding success! Sure this could happen, and yes, Maybe being protective isn’t the right move.

Bay’s turtles hurt the IP, and Rise only further kneecapped it. Brands can die and bad ideas can kill them.

Anyway, that’s all I got. Tom said his piece, he heard me. That’s enough.

I really hope the life-span on the “ok boomer” joke isn’t too long. I’m acutely aware of jokes that are being beaten to death. It’s my worst power.

The meme is drawing its last breath but it felt far too fitting for me not to use it, so I thought, why not put the nail in the coffin myself?

Is it almost over? I thought it was new. I'm glad to hear I slept through most of it.

It is a relatively recent meme. However, the thing about memes is, it can last a year or it can last a week, there isn't a specific expiration date. It boils down to how popular it is and how quickly all of its potential will be used up, how long it'll take for it to reach sites like 9gag or Facebook meme pages or, God forbid, how long it'll take for mainstream media to start using it. 'Ok boomer' reached such popularity and mainstream coverage that its lifespan was doomed to be short. However, considering that this site is stuck in the early 00s, it's still alive enough to be used here without it being too sad.
