NO.

I ain’t that shallow.
I wish there were more of this, more people who felt this way. Then maybe hollywood would stop replacing the Luke Skywalkers of pop culture with the Rey Palapatines.

Why oh why whenever there is a hit IP, Hollywood seeks to 'improve' it with a gender flip. More original female characters please, like Pheobe from ghostbusters afterlife, or Battle Angel Alita from her manga.

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

There are more of us than you think. But whenever we do speak up, we get shot down and even called self-loathing women who are struggling with internalized misogyny. In other words, to them, we are a bunch o’ Suzy Homemakers.

SJW brand of Feminism is incredibly demeaning to women and treats them like brainless babies who can't and should not make any step without their "Glorious White KNIGHTS" advising any minutiae details of their lives from how to speak to how to behave and dress in public.
And everyone who are do not agree to that are "traitors".

Not much a difference from "incels" or hardcore Christians and Muslims, which are more or less the same thing.

Gender swapping itself is so lazy and, as a woman, I find it insulting that some would rather just swap a character's gender rather than put in the effort of creating equally cool female characters that everyone will like without it having to be a movie specifically "for women."

Also annoyingly weird with animal based characters, esp reptiles. Male character... basic regular animal-based humanoid. Female character... lets make sure to slap a bunch of human crap on there so the stupid audience will understand that it's a girl! We can't possibly just establish that in the beginning then trust them to remember an hour into it.

I'd rather not see Venus in live action. Had the PD movies continued and they brought her in eventually, I might have laughed my ass off over some male fans uncomfortably trying not to look (or openly hypocritically looking), because you know Bay & Co. would HAVE to try to make a girl Turtle sexy, but aside from that amusing detail...I'd have to pass.

And anyone who'd gender swap the guys (random harmless fanart aside) aught to be burned at the stake. As a woman...yeah, you likely relate to fave male characters in a different way than if they were women. I prefer wanting to snuggle a certain man Turtle to pieces, don't ruin that.

Another sign our culture has gone straight down the sewer. Let's hope more of those 'activists' get some logic and intelligence, before our society drowns in it's own ignorance. And let's hope we never get official gender-swapped TMNT.

Apparently when women stand up for themselves, it is "right wing".

I've seen their posts around and I don't think she'd deny they were right wing. Users who use every post to insert right wing politics into everything is extremely tedious.

Also I'm not sure how the existence of an all-female TMNT movie (which is not happening and never will) is putting women down.

By itself what she had said is not right wing in any way. But since her idea opposes your "glorious" fanfic about "left wing world" you need to do a hard asspull and pretend it is "right wing", like a typical loser who cares about winning argument at all cost, even at the cost of the sanity and logic.

Meaningless pandering to women, as if they are lesser creatures who can't empathize with characters who are not created specifically for them at any point, is apparently progressive.

OK, incel, thanks for sharing your opinion.
I hope your GF's boyfriend appreciates it too.

Also, just a reminder - when it comes to the fanfic writers there are more women than men, when it comes to TMNT, so apparently women are OK with this story being about 4 men. But I wonder why some men, believe that women are not OK with it? Maybe those men are not sure about their masculinity?

Guess I need to repeat myself:

Genderbending a traditionally male character is a lazy attempt at diversity. And it’s insulting to assume that every woman would immediately go for it like a rabbit going for a dangling carrot.

Am I supposed to stay silent and just take it like a good Handmaid? Huh?

Okay. Here we go:

From a creative standpoint taking something traditionally male and turning it on it's head and exploring what a female version would be like is one of the most consistent tropes in modern fiction.

From a commercial perspective taking something which is traditionally male and seeing if it can appeal to girls and/or women by adding in female elements or flat out making a female version of it is has been the main business strategy for franchises since intellectual properties have been franchised. Now if you're a woman and say that you've never needed female or feminine things present in property for you to like it that's great but the vast amount of market research shows that this is something that consistently works. This is why we have Mary Marvel, Supergirl, Batgirl and She-Ra to name a few important characters. Wonder Woman was created as a female answer to Superman and while she's never sold many comics I imagine DC didn't care when the movie came out was a huge hit. Disney rakes a small fortune with Minnie Mouse merchandise - far more than they will ever likely make out of Mickey ever again.

People used to understand and accept this before some slick ass holes hit on the idea that disaffected people could be politically weaponised by convincing them that instead of doing what has been proven to be profitable that major corporations are deliberately destroying their own popular IPs for some sinister left agenda.

I don't follow the fan fiction scene so I'll take your word for it but no one is even talking about a female version of TMNT. That's why people getting upset about this are dumb.

I remember in the thick of the counter-culture mania a few years back this this purple-hair that I've known since forever found her rage-outlet and ran with it. She routinely argued how oppressive and sexist it was that women who wear armor in pop-culture had accompanying chests molded into their armor to be more form fitting. That was literally her big stand in life. She's since settled down a bit, bored with years of bull$#!( back in some small Wisconsin town raising her kid to be successful at life, I'm sure.

The point? I could see a female turtle movie actually getting made, making no money at all and when it flops the remaining purple-hairs of the Mary Sue go on about how the movie was oppressive because the female turtles were sexualized with breasts in their design. Meanwhile every normal woman on Earth, comfortable with the fact that women have chests simply don't go see the movie because pop-culture gender-swaps aren't actually "diversity" but rather infiltrative assaults.

And most of the time it flops. You had conveniently forgot this part.

Also, two things to consider:
- most of the time its just creatively bankrupt decision driven by marketing for the sake of money;
- most of the time it is badly executed and newly created female character ends up being a dead weight;

There are very few, if any, attempts to take male-centric franchise and turn into female-centric one for the sake of exploration of what it would look from female-centric point of view.

Even when it happens or proclaimed so, those attempts are misguided and stupid, because, they operate on the same set of tropes and stereotypes as any other work, so they are either not different from previous works, except the lead(s) are now women or they end up as a parody and worst example of GRRRRRRRRL power, like Terminator: Dark Flop in some parts.

And most of the time it had failed, since you need to change so much about OG franchise that it stops appealing to anyone.

It is not what Cowabung-Gal argues about. Of course, you had conveniently "misunderstood / ignored" that, because, you can't build your argument without asspulls and lies.

No-one says that women do not want representation in media. Its just they want GOOD representation, which is not built on top of inverting male-centric character franchises or build on retarded tropes like GRRRRL power and Mary Sues.

Also, ones that don't try to present women with traditional masculine stereotypes essentially hinting that feminine stereotypes are bad, worthless and don't fit heroes.

You, know, if you are OK with manager mandated female clones of pre-existing male characters its cool and everything, its just most people want something more interesting. Like, I don't know, original characters with independent interesting storylines and the like?

I mean, it is a lot to ask in the age, when raceswapping characters is considered to be a BIG RACE TOWARDS PROGRESS, but still.

Also, Wonder Woman was created by a kinky psychologist, who most likely worked his personal psychological kinks through writing Wonder Woman, besides, creating female equivalent to the Superman. But he probably the only guy who can be on the list of people who genuinely cared about proper female representation in media, kinks and all.

And, Batgirl is a bad example as she was introduced as a female love interest to Robin to deflect accusations about Batman and Robin Homosexual relationship. She was created as being completely opposite of female empowerment.

As for Minnie and Mickey, you know, that Mickey is Dinsey's mascot as a whole and recognizable basically everywhere? If you think it is not monetization, I don't know what to tell you...

You basically take whatever arguments and pull them through the grinder to make them "remotely" fitting whatever you are arguing for. Which means you lack conviction and real arguments.

Your token recitations of "modern progressivism for dummies" are useless.

So, you are literally arguing that, when people are trying to convince others that pandering build only for the sake of monetary interests, is bad and they deserve better, is horrible and that people should care about interests of poor corporations?

Amazing.
You are not only incel, but you also a corporate shill.
Hopefully you will have a fulfilling sleep, because, I can't imagine how someone twisting himself in a pretzel just to pretend he is on a good side of history can have one.

On contrary: it proves there is no need for female turtles, because, fandom already have plenty of female fans as it is.
You sound like those PR managers, who propose various hair-brained schemes to increase audience purely to show-off your skills to the CEO, even when it is clear there is no need for it.

That is funny how modern "progressives" exist in that constant "meandering" state, where their ideology encourages people to be true to themselves, yet, at the same time it encourages people to be dissatisfied with who they are.

It is almost like its encourages people to create problems out of nothing, because, the rest of their problems are non-existing.

And about female armor....if your setting allows dragons and magic, then **** this person is complaining about impractical armor!?

This combination of words is the most highly-processed and articulate statement of observational wisdom I've seen you post in the years I've been here, hand's down.

Your single sentence was a Master's class in that aspect of socio-pathology. I feel like it belongs in conversation amongst other educational groups that are not the Technodrome forums.

If you're watching a tv show or movie, and you're counting the number of females present without being enthralled by the story, then the story probably isn't that good.
