What cover is it an homage of? If it's a Mirage one, I've only read the first few issues as just couldn't get into it.

Huh, guess I just couldn't see it. That cover I am familiar with and it was also replicated with last year's FCBD issue.

I'm wondering if it's the future-Don from the recent issues on the new cover.

Well let’s hope what happens to the tmnt we get new original characters and other obsurce ones from movies,tv shows,toys,and games. Hopping dragon lord,commander mozar,lord dregg,and kava asa are apart of this.

I think this turtle is the future-Raph because he has a lot of scar on his face.

I noticed Splinter is on a cover for the Street Fighter crossover, should we take that as a sign that the series is non-canon or that Splinter will come back to life?

I'm not entirely sure but a couple of other things I've noticed are that it seems to be part of a multi-cover image (pretty sure that hand near the top is Dhalsim) and almost all of the characters shown are 'good-guys' (or at least lean that way) except for Leatherhead whose fate after Armageddon Game is still in question and Rocksteady who has never been on the TMNT's side - unless this comes about from Karai's current arrangement in the Alliance issues.

Either way this opens up a lot of questions.

I'm pretty sure this is non-canon and the cover is just capitalizing on TMNT character's that are easily identifiable and visually appealing

Interesting, Waltz seems to be hinting on his Twitter account at some connection between the climax of Armageddon Game and the first Ghostbusters crossover... Whether said connection is Chi-You himself or his fate, or something else entirely, is anyone's guess.

I'm guessing Rat King gets sealed away to defeat him similar to Chi-you? Since he's immortal it's the only way to get rid of the character.

What worrying is that now the turtles have to rely on others to defeat the main villains, or these villains accidentally killed themselves like disney villains.

Over the year the turtles have gain more training and experience and fight hordes of thugs, foot ninjas or aliens. They also build dojo and become teachers. But somehow, some frogs or low-tier mercenaries can kick their ass. Meanwhile, Karai can easily defeat the gang of four.

Don't forget, Karai also easily took down Bebop and Rocksteady. Twice. The Turtles just look embarrassing at this point.

It's interesting that Chi-Yu has remained in Limbo all of these years. It would seem like the best resolution for Rat King to finish off this long running thread.

I just love that the turtles are STILL not allowed to actually kill anyone, and yet the weasles, who are suppposed to be literal CHILDREN, are allowed to explicitly plan out a murder, then maul the guy and slit his throat, fully on-page.

I know that he was derived from Ancient Chinese folklore. However, I took a deep dive into Wiki and it seems like the character of Chi-Tu was given a TMNT flavor to fit into its overarching plot otherwise it's taken from Chinese folklore.
