"Meet the cast." How about no. How about meet the characters? Or maybe the modelers and animators, the people who put in the hard work of actually creating and animating the characters? Oh that's right... they aren't famous.

Talking about the cast too, sure, of course, but their names have gotten most of the attention on what little promoting there is. Look at those posters, even the character names are tiny, just saying.

April is really ugly. I wouldn't mind too much if April was black if she was at least slim and fit, you know, drawn like April usually is. But they just had to make her heavy-set didn't they.

Honestly, the turtles themselves are the only ones who have a good character design. Literally every single other character is varying degrees of ugly, hunched over, disproportionate, etc. No one looks good. At least the turtles look like their "standard" design, glasses and dorag notwithstanding.

Interesting that this Wingnut has kind of a Fishface thing going on with their design. (Having robotic arms since bats lack them like with Xever's legs.)

The interview unsurprisingly confirms Ray Fillet's penchant for just stating his own name survived from the storyboards.

Design matters, here are some far better black April fan creations and most would not have complained, look at the image below. I don't even hate fat black April anymore, I just wish she had a different name. You could've had a fat white April or a skinny black April, but having her being both just seems nothing like the original character at that point. I mean she looks like whoopi goldberg, which coincidentally already has a character in the TMNT universe that looks like her called Bernadette Thompson from Out of the Shadows.

My headcanon is that it's not April. In this universe the real April O'Neil got raped and murdered by Rat King so Bernadette took her name to solve the mystery of her death and just kept the name.
