Well... even in the 80's cartoon, that one episode 'Takes One to Know One', it was implied each of the Turtles had a turn with April on the weekdays and Splinter had her in the weekends. It just carried over to future incarnations.

It depends on what iteration of the franchise you’re talking about. I could see something happening between April and Donnie in the Nick cartoons or even in the IDW comics. Donatello even seems to harbor strong feelings for April and even outright executed Baxter Stockman for what he did to her in the Mirage comics. Otherwise, April seems to be too much of an older stepsister/den mother figure to the turtles for that to happen.

The only animals that have ever shown any, erm, 'romantic' interest in humans are male dolphins in captivity.
I suppose an overabundance of incel frustration leads them to ignore the fact that their (female) human trainers are a totally different species.
I suppose you might say that some parrots exhibit 'courtship' behavior towards their caretakers.
Can't imagine a turtle finding a human attractive or vice versa.
Not even if that human is pre-facelift Megan Fox.

I think she should never have romance with any character. I'd even rather she was a middle-aged widow from the start and never fall in love with someone again. We can have a mature and wise aunt April in the new series.

It's fiction, we've had that sort of thing insinuated by official media stuffs for a long, long time, and in this day and age we've already had FAR weirder outside this franchise and the idea of a Turtle and a very open and accepting human clicking doesn't really bother me too much. But maybe leave that sort of thing happening largely off camera and preferably in media meant for older fans.

In the argument about bestiality:

If a strictly humanoid being possesses human intelligence, can communicate fluently in a human language and is an adult and capable of deciding that on their own, then no, I don't think that qualifies. Imo. They are equally people first and foremost. That question is such a big grey area though given that we've never had any real life examples of fellow humanoids in our lifetime, so understandable that opinions will differ. (By OUR lifetime I mean when our species crossed paths with Neanderthals and others and clearly got it on. Maybe considered a type of human, but still not us.)

On the other hand... "The Shape of Water" for example. WTF was that. The fish man was NOT on the same level as humans, could not speak, and even with what very minimal hand signals he might have picked up he was not able to sit and have a full and understandable conversation, nor want to try. (Had he been able and eager to try to do that it might have been vaguely less weird.) He was more interested in chasing people's pets and eating them. People defend that film, but no, THAT is freaking bestiality. Even if they tried to make it okay by hinting that the woman in the movie might be a hybrid (at the end), she was still far intellectually superior.

Or hell, lets put it another way. If there was a crossover and Jennika or Venus screwed the fish man (or one of the guys if you want them to swing that way), that WOULD be bestially committed by the Turtle in question because THEY are the human-level intelligent being who took advantage of a intellectually lower being who could not communicate any consent.

that said, April did fancy that rex-1 robot,
so her love interests haven't always been other humans

87 April would probably be cute with Irma but Irma's too boy crazy
but in other iterations, Casey and April have good balance together

I swear, people asked some of the weirdest question on forums back in the day. It's telling that the author of this thread is banned.

I'm sure Donnie having a crush on April in the 2012 is the closest we'll ever see to that. Even then, they probably only got away with that because April wasn't fully human in that series.
