No, once you reach that point, the variance is minimal to make no discernible difference. The only variable really is experience in various conditions.

I'm pretty sure positions like commercial airline pilots and heart/brain surgeons should have as minimal difference as possible. With something where lives are at stake you don't want them to say 'oh hey, bring in the good one'. Like.. say what? They're all supposed to be 'the good one'.

A lot of flying is automated now. The pilot is there for takeoff, landing, unexpected changes, and dealing with abnormal situations. The only real difference long years of experience help with is the last factor, and being able to fly different makes and model of plane.

I usually agree with andrew, but I would think that there absolutely could be a better heart surgeon than another out there. one person could know more than the other.

The difference is still/should still be minimal. When you're going to get heart surgery you don't want to hope you get 'the good one'. They should all be good ones.

but in the age of DEI hires, you know this isn't the case. some hospitals WILL have 'good ones'. others will have ones that have no business being there.

If there is any true to 'oh they'll just hire like.. anyone as long as their black and gay and trans' or whatever is probably for office jobs or working at companies like Marvel or DC and other places that in the end, really don't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Jobs where lives are at stake and call for extensive testing and certifications like commercial airline pilots and heart/brain surgeons are a different story.
