I'm a bit late to this, but I recently tracked down the "De-Feminised" cut of the movie, some of the edits are a little abrupt, but a few of the choices by the editor gave me a jolly chuckle (like the use of Batman v Superman music when Hawkeye loses his family and the Ancient One giving the Hulk her Infinity stone because she's scared s*itless of him)

Getting re-released in theaters with new scenes that tie into Doomsday? Maybe it even has something to with my last post here from 5 years ago.

That's kinda.... cheating. Like a new movie shouldn't have to go back and re-edit the previous one to make the new one work.

What are they gonna do, add extra scenes of RDJ cackling when he's alone? Or we see a line up of several Iron Man helmets and one of them happens to look like Doom's helmet?

Eh, it’ll be online before Doomsday comes out.

Or it’ll be used in Doomsday and this is essentially an early look.

I'm sure they're mostly giving the additions a lot of hyperbole to sell tickets. How sad will it be when an Endgame re-release makes more money than Captain America 4, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four, though?

#1. If that article was correct and there was already some Norrin Radd Silver Surfer footage shot for it at the time, then probably that.

#2. New footage shot of Steve returning the stones. Maybe something goes wrong and creates the RDJ Dr. Doom. If they do this that's going to wreck the narrative flow of the Old Man Steve reveal.

#3. Just a hope, but... inserting people like Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, etc., into the final battle.

They could, and they probably will but it all gets wrecked narratively. When the guys are waiting for Steve to reappear on the quantum teleporter thing a few seconds later there would be no suspense for any of that and no surprise when they pan to Old Man Steve.

Also, it'd be a mess to reedit. We'd go from present, to the past following Steve around dropping off the stones and finally arriving in the 40s to be with Peggy... then we go back to the present to meet Old Man Steve, then back to the past to see Steve dancing with Peggy.

Or maybe that's what they can do. Chop out Steve dancing with Peggy from the very end of Endgame and move it to the end of the new Steve-returning-the-stones sequence but before we see Old Man Steve. And then put something new directly tying into Doomsday where the Steve dancing with Peggy scene was.
