Question over a.i. use to make TMNT art

I have a serious question, what's up with all the use of a.i. in TMNT art? Like I'm not trying to bash a.i. in this thread/post but like what makes TMNT fans more inclined to use a.i. to make their fanart?

Because they can't draw.

And most of this is just being used for social media engagement in hopes of making a penny.

Zarius is the TMNT A.I. master of the forum. I wonder how his RocksteadyxApril shipping fanfic is going. We still haven't seen Rocksteady and April "in bed" together yet.

I haven't checked Deviant Art for years but I guess all non-adult art rule has changed since I last been there. There are entire galleries of people making AI NSFW of any character you can name either locking them behind a paywall or asking you to subscribe 'to see more'.

I don't even how that works, or is even legal. I mean first of all, it's AI so it's not even drawn. Secondly, they're making money making AI NSFW art of characters they don't own like Wonder Woman, Bulma, and to keep it on topic, April too.

There's not really any such thing as "AI Art."

I mean it's really not much different than commissions, besides the fact people were actually drawing the characters. People would charge $100 to draw NSFW art of a requested videogame/anime/cartoon character and get paid real money for it. So it's the same principle here, only they are now letting AI do all the work.

So if for example people wanted art of Tifa and Aerith kissing, or Princess Peach and Zelda touching each others boobs, you could charge money for it. Its always been allowed for people who wanted that stuff.

I wonder what AIs they are using. Every one I've dabbled with stops me if I try to use anything like Batman or Robocop or really any actor. I even tried to make a funny video with Carl Weathers as Apollo on a few of the generators and it "violated the terms" every time, just using him at all.

It exists. Trust me.

Have you tried MiniMax? It works on a number of IPs (but unfortunately nerfs me on Turtles and Marvel/DC)

I'm not entirely sure what the OP is referencing in the thread, but I haven't seen anything that steps on any toes or requires a "virtue argument" against A.I. as a creation tool.

No one has published an A.I. TMNT comic or made money through the I.P. with it. You basically have grassroots experimentation.

Hating on A.I. is just the new-luddite-outburst. It's like when fuel injection came along and the carburetor-tuners called it "garbage" instead of learning the new tech. Or when people threw fits in the late 1800's about how "these new-fangled cars can never replace 'ol Betsy the horse!".

It's just a "virtue argument". Even most "Protect the I.P." arguments only hold up as well as an Intellectual Property argument always has - it's not more special because of A.I.

I have people all up in arms against me because I used AI to create a cover page banner for a Facebook group using AI. It's text only and doesn't recreate any actual art.

The only alternative suggestion anyone ever has is to just use copyrighted images instead. I specifically made my banner to avoid using copyrighted images. I think a lot of people (specifically the youth) are just being hypnotized to think that all AI is bad in every context. There's not critical thinking to understand copyright issues, amongst other things.

oh wow a thoughtful discussion on AI and its on the technodrome of all places.

I understand people onine being tired of AI slop, I also get tired and annoyed as I can easily tell what is AI and whatnot. Especially with how lazy people are with making AI stuff, its indeed slop. But something somehow more annoying are the anti AI ludites who no matter what was made will just say it's AI slop and even harrass the person posting it constantly and invite his friends to harras him.
This isn't even for AI slop but genuine awesome AI creations, sure they use AI but when done well it's awesome to see what the tech can do. There's a difference between a lazy flyer for a restaurant that clearly used AI and it's overdesigned vs a video of jackie chan vs bruce lee in their prime that is well choreographed, uses their trademark styles and tells a fun little story. And yet the former will get attacked.

What those ludites don't even get is that they get mad at even the smallest use of AI, and somehow live in ignorance that they interact with stuff and praise stuff that clearly uses AI, most businesses are using AI, most people hell even the youtuvers and tiktokers who diss AI are surely using AI to help them write and edit, either because of their own decision and they don't care as long as they get views, or because the software they use uses it, ironically enough.

Also annoying to see people who clearly don't give a sh-t about ecology or their carbon footprint try to lecture about how bad AI is bad for the environment. They just spit out whatever short form video educated them in the subject and repeat like sheep, because they have no actual thought process of their own.

AI is bad but don't be a cowaboomer.
