A cover for it doesn't exist, right? It appeared in the Latin America TMNT Vol. 1 reprint TBD and then nothing "officially" until now, when it's just again tucked in between other stories.

Yeah, no official cover at all.

Makes sense, but I wish they would have put something in there to separate it a bit.

What a weird drop for Paradox.
Like, the Compendium that omitted TMNT 8 would have been an ideal place to finally debut this one. But to discreetly drop it in a Best of Renet with no pomp or circumstance?

"And, for the first time in its original English language, a LOST Mirage TMNT story!"

The advertising and promotion writes itself and would have at least gotten a few extra sales.

Was Spinal Tapped included in the Best of Renet? That's another ultra rare, never reprinted one they could have included to gain a few bonus sales.

I had to ask my mail order comic shop guy to back order this Best of Renet thing for me since I had no idea it had Paradox in it.

I don’t think my shop was gonna order any (due to low sales on that series) until I special requested it for my holds and mentioned its potential collectable value.

Spinal Tapped was not included. It remains in the Tales Treasury Collection.

The recent compeniums skipping issue 8 makes no sense when the Ultimate Editions that IDW put out first almost a decade ago had them. Why was #8 ok back then but now now?

I honestly don't know, maybe some dispute with Sim?

Here is my summary of the printing history of The Paradox of Chudnovsky pieced together from various sources, including posts by Demon-Alukard on this forum, TMNT: A Collection and TMNT Entity.

Common to all Versions:

Story: Steve Murphy
Pencils: Jim Lawson
Inks & Design: Eric Talbot

1. Las Tortugas Ninja Vol. 2
Published by Norma Editorial, March 2007
Translated from English to Spanish
No Frontispiece or Epilogue, 31 pages

2. Tales of the TMNT #71 (First Edition)
Published by Illusion Studios, June 2011
New Frontispiece by Marina Prokopyeva & Arseniy Dubakov + Title Page, no Epilogue, 33 pages
Translated from Spanish to English by Efrahn Ostos Garcha & Andrew Modeen (also exists in Russian), Letters by Arseniy Dubakov
Cover by Arseny Dubakov & Dmitry Bobrovnik

3. Tales of the TMNT Vol. 1
Published by Illusion Studios, January 2016
New Frontispiece by Lawson (based on that by Prokopyeva & Dubakov) + Title Page & Recovered Epilogue, 34 pages
Translated from Spanish to Russian (possibly Spanish to English to Russian), Letters by Arseniy Dubakov

4. Tales of the TMNT #71 (Second Edition)
Published by Illusion Studios, September 2016
New Frontispiece by Lawson + Title Page & Recovered Epilogue, 34 pages
Translated from Spanish to English by Efrahn Ostos Garcha & Andrew Modeen , Letters by Arseniy Dubakov
Cover by Arseny Dubakov & Dmitry Bobrovnik

5. Tales of the TMNT #71 (Third Edition)
Published by Illusion Studios, September 2024
Frontispiece by Lawson + Title Page & Recovered Epilogue, 34 pages
Translated from Spanish to English by Efrahn Ostos Garcha & Andrew Modeen , New Letters by Arseniy Dubakov
New Cover by Jim Lawson

6. The Best of Renet
Published by IDW, July 2025
Original Script by Steve Murphy & Letters by Eric Talbot
No Frontispiece or Epilogue, 31 pages

From what I have read, there was no Frontispiece ever done by Mirage prior to its sale to Viacom in 2009 because this story was intended to replace TMNT #8, not become a Tales of the TMNT issue. The Epilogue was originally done by Mirage with the rest of the story but had no text put onto the page until 2016 by Andrew Modeen.
