I was going to collect the whole thing over a number of Christmas breaks, but with this ending I'll be cutting the collection short this year and pretending this finale didn't happen.
I don’t think they ever plan on continuing the future portion of the story. I don’t think it’s a downer ending either. They spent 40 years growing older together after the present day stuff, got displaced for 10 years and then that final page of Mike and Toid leaving with Renet was a very positive note. No doubt they’ll successfully bring everyone back.

It’s hard to do a finale for a series like this. The show had them kill Dregg and Splinter acknowledging them as equals. Very good finale, but I can’t imagine the adventures ever stopped.

So the message of never giving up was a good one. The Last Ronin connection was kind of eye-roll inducing, but at least they didn’t kill them all off lol.

Overall, it was a good series but I really didn't like it tried to plug the gaps in between the first seven years and red sky. I could have done without all that.
That was my initial problem with the series. There is no gap there. There’s maybe 24 hours between “Shredder Triumphant” and “Get Shredder”.

Which again only leads to credibility of Saturday Morning Adventures being an alternate spin-off universe.

last ronin has become a stain on the franchise and how the casual fandom expects nods of it everywhere. it's literally ruining the universes of other continuities

Yeah, the evidence is overwhelming at this point. People act like it’s an insult when you point this out, but I think it makes the comic much more appealing.

IDW’s marketing department and the normies disagree lol

I’ve lightened up big time on TLR this past year, only because I finally gave Lost Years and Re-Evolution a chance and they were pretty good. But yes, I strongly agree.

It’s crazy to me that something that dropped in 2020 would somehow become a “canon event” for everything across the TMNT multiverse, even the previous versions’ futures. It’s essentially just a What If? story. Why apply it to anything else? Boooooring!

normies are so annoying, especially the redditor kind. These comic continuations will always be what ifs, they usually become convoluted and contradicting and new versions come out that ignore the previous comic adaptations continuity. Just look at how many comic animated continuations of the 90s DC/Marvel cartoons have happened and they always ignore the previous comic.
If IDW lose the license and someone else starts a comic based off the FW show it'll ignore this one of course.
Heck if they ever make a new season or movie or even video game based off FW they'll also ignore this comic and wont' care if the new story contradcits it, and it'll also be marketed as "sequel to the original 1987 cartoon!!!"

Happens all the time, and idiots will still defend "nah, ah, this is 100% canon" because someone from the show on some obscure interview because of marketing went on a podcast 100 people listen to said it was.

just soyboi, consoomers, tourists, whatever you want to call it who foam at the mouth at every announcement that go on conventions, they've literally ruined most fandoms and geek culture in general. ***OMG a Mirage reference *foams atthe mouth***, and they are literal nearly or 50 year old man babbies who grew up with the FW show and only learned what mirage was from an influencer youtuber like blacknerd comedy or p1xelDan in the early 2010s and ha sonly ever read #1, the rest of his tmnt lore knowledge comes from wikipedia and youtube videos.

I've never actually checked out TLR, I'm sure it's a fine story I'd enjoy. But everything that surrounded it from the beginning just screamed "trying too hard" which put me off.

Ever since the 2003 SAINW episode, they've always make a "What if grimdark" future to other new series for hype.

However, most of the time it's about a future where "the villain wins or the universe is being destroyed," which it's makes me tired of it. At least SMA has maintained its own style, instead of try to become more grimdark.

It’s not like the canon mirage future was all unicorns and rainbows

At least mirage tmnt future isn't a "what if the villain wins". It's bit like a Batman Beyond, but a sadder. The old things are gradually fading away, some people live on in the beauty of the past, while others keep moving forward.
