There definitely isn't going to be a part 3. If there is they might as well make The Dark Knight Returns

Robert Pattinson got excited to play Batman and he's only going to do 2 movies over the span of 6 years and counting.

Steven Soderbergh will be stepping in to take over to finish principal photography for the film (while maintaining Reeves’ vision for the movie).

Wow, that's pretty wild. Also, not a pick I would ever have associated with superhero movies. Reeves must be sick alright. And yeah, no chance there will be a III without Reeves.

I'm shocked that this is actually being made. Batman is WB's biggest superhero IP, they're just sabotaging it.

Reeves remains in post? That's a far cry from previous examples at WB where the directors ended up locked out of that process. Lessons have been learned.

But Reeves is sick. Like, very sick. This is widely known. He is not able to complete anything. This is not remotely a Snyder JL situation. This is more of a Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther 2 scenario, if he hadn't died yet.

I get it. I meant I didn't even know that this had started filming. They should have cancelled it before that.

Why should they have cancelled it? It's the sequel to the most successful DC film this decade.

Since 2020? That's saying very little. So it did better than Birds of Prey or Black Adam? Or Shazam 2? WOW!

I agree it should have been cancelled but not for these reasons (mostly in truth for the reasons of the first one SUCKED, it's a horrible direction to go in for Batman, and it sets us back from finally getting a "True" Batman that can walk in both the fantastical and realistic realms). I would never wish a production to fall apart because of illness. And obviously if Matt wants this to be seen through even by a proxy, then so be it.

Come to think of it, my reaction to The Batman in the theater was almost exactly the same as my reaction to Batman & Robin in 1997 in the theater. For different reasons, of course, but the same disdain walking out of it. Though I guess Batman & Robin did ultimately cost me the girlfriend I dragged to it, who couldn't believe I wanted to see that movie with her.

It's been a while since I last watched it but if you watch Batman and Robin and treat it like you're watching The Room, it's a blast.

Batman and Robin honestly was the blueprint for every bit of dross we've been subjected to for years.

How? The first film was rather successful. This sequel is just about the only sure thing they have right now. Cancelling it would have been laughable and a tragedy.

The Batman isn’t perfect but the potential is there and people generally want more.

Ya I kind of agree with this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I rather enjoyed the first Batman. I agree this is taking way too long for the second Batman to come out though, it’s ridiculous. But overall I recalled liked The Batman. I didn’t think I would, as I generally am not a huge fan of Pattinson, but I thought he did a great job. What I liked about this one in particular is it felt like it was a true Batman movie, with just small scenes of Bruce Wayne. You get Batman through most of the movie, rather than Bruce Wayne for most of the movie, and Batman for small clips.

It sounds like they are bringing in court of owls in the second one which I’m not a fan of because it sounds like they could be a side character, and they are way way too big to ever be a side character, so we will see what happens there

I still hope a third movie will be made. Pattinson can be a good Bruce Wayne/Batman getting older.

Pattison will be 50 years old before a third movie comes out.

I mean, he's a vampire so it'll be fine.
