That's an interesting idea. Let me look into it...

All crossover ideas have to get approved by Peter Laird... and always have to get officially pitched from the other crossover party, in this case RU.

Good point. I'm not sure of the answer but here's my guess: the decision as to what to reference on the new show (like something from the old show, as you mention) comes from the creative top, namely Peter Laird and Lloyd Goldfine, the show's producer. Actually, the preceding wasn't a guess, it's the reality. Here's the guess part: Lloyd probably isn't familar with the Archie comic and... I don't think Pete was the comic series' biggest fan.

New "new trailer" news

Busy week here, sorry I haven't been more available for questions and postings...

But... some news:

The new TMNT film trailer will not only be shown with Eragon but also with Unaccompanied Minors.

And it will also be available on MTV.com beginning on December 8.

Awww man, my first guess of what movie it would be for December was correct I'd rather Eragon! Though, I'll go and see "Unaccompanied Minors" for this trailer, it just makes it so it'll be earlier than waiting for Eragon... just I WOULD see Eragon without the trailer, I wouldn't go see "Unaccompanied Minors" without it. (I know I don't have to go to the theater to see it, though I enjoy hearing the crowds reaction and seeing it on the big screen).

Hope everything is going well up in Northampton! I do have one question, when I last talked about "New York City Comic Con" it was a 50/50 thing if Mirage was thinking of going or not, has a decision been made on this? I hope you guys do come, though I understand that there's other stuff going on during that time this upcoming year so I know there's a chance we won't be seeing ya there

Hi M. At this point Peter Laird is, in his words, "leaning towards not going." Mike Dooney, Jim Lawson and Eric Talbot are going, while Dan Berger and Steve Lavigne will only go if Pete goes. Me, I'm probably not going to attend the entire show but more likely just go in for one day.

I hope the new trailer isn't cheesy. I hope it blows the current one out of the water. (Not that the current one is cheesy at all, I can just see it going downhill)

I got a question that maybe you might know the answer to.

I live in Cali, close to San Fran. There's about 10 comic stores near me and not one of them carry TMNT. They all tell me the same thing
"There's no point carrying a company that only has 2 titles"
"Mirage is independent so we don't carry them"
"Their special order only"
"They won't send it to us unless we order it from some special other company"

Now I don't believe that, or most of it. Most of these idiots don't even know anything about TMNT, one of them told me Eastman still produced the comics. And one of them told me they stopped making TMNT after the Image series -_-

So I was wondering why it is that TMNT issues aren't being shipped, atleast to my area. I don't like buying them online because of shipping. For the price of shipping I could afford another issue.

Yeah. My closest comic shop is a 50 mile round trip. If I could get a subscription to TMNT and all of its related titles, I certainly would because I can't drive (medical reasons).

Yeah, the store I go to only gets them in once in a while. I consider it a miracle when they do get one in.

If you tell the clerk that you will buy it EACH time a title arrives I can assure you they'd be more than happy to order one for you. That's how it works in my local shop. There are 5 regulars (myself included) who buy TMNT so the clerk orders about 6 copies.

Doesn't for mine, they always tell me that there needs to be a demand for it. So if atleast 10 people don't buy the title they won't order it.

Same with the subscriptions box. If you don't have atleast 5 titles then you can't start one.

So they can get it, but there aren't four other titles you want?

Tales and Volume 4, I don't read any other comics, or care to pay for anymore. For that price I could just buy them online. Buying 3 extra books I don't want for a box is stupid. Then again they would have to have Tales and Volume 4 in stock for that to matter and they don't because there isn't 9 other people who care to buy it.

ok seriously after the damn day I've had in Los Angeles going to all the local comic shops and not anyone having any issues of TMNT anything besides the stupid dreamwave series and being scoffed at and being told to go look in the childrens section!! THE CHILDRENS SECTION!! Oh actully firstly one of the guys tried to tell me they don't make them anymore I was like dude I've bought new Ninja Turtle comics here before only months ago..he goes oh really...try the childrens section..
And the other one I go to Atomic sells the damn comics they sell out I go well can you order atleast 2 more copies a month I'll by both copies if I have to and the guy goes no we order so and so many like 3 or some number and well we can get them for you if you buy 5 or more comics a month and we can have a box for you...um hello I only read TMNT!!! I don't want anything else.
I'm sorry guys but I've just gotta rant about this crap going on...they will buy up endless copies of stupid marvel dc and other horrid indie comics yet they wont have tmnt out on the shelves I'm really seriously sick of this and offended to hell and back.

They'd have to get it if you had it in a box, but because you don't want the others then they won't get it. Even if they didn't have the 9 other people getting it, so long as you were and had a subscription, then they'd have to get it. You could add the TPB's, that'd make 3...

Or I could just wipe my ass with 20 bucks because I already have all of those issues normally. My store won't order them period unless they have a high demand. Me having a box changes nothing. Just means I have to spend extra money for comics I don't want, with a slight chance oh getting TMNT if other people want the issues to. And only some stores told me that. Most of them told me they just flat out don't care to carry them.

And like Putrescent all I ever find in the left over bin are the DW comic. And it's always the Casey issue.

My Advice that I'm going to go with and Spitfire and anyone else who can't find them at a local comic shop is simply this.
If you've try and ask time and time again yet they treat you like some 80's cartoon fan boy and say rude things or want to make you buy comic you really don't want DO NOT SUPPORT THEM!!
My Advice is for those of us in this spot to order directly from Mirage because we cut out the middle man and go right to the source and they are making more of a profit from it.
Thank you and good night *takes a bow*
