Dude, you really don't know much about animation do you?

I really like the movie...we are very lucky fans. Everyone at the movie theater were cheerful, both 1980s fans and new fans. It is a time that both types of fans can join up and celebrate our passion for the 4 turtle brothers.

But of course looking at it now the suites has its flaws. Dont get me wrong I LOVE the first movie to death, I'm sure we all do. But c'mon a suite that weighs 80 plus pounds has its limits. The actors in the suites couldnt jump high enough to give a jumping kick when they did it. Not to mention the emotion to capture for the turtles aren't that great.

But at the time the suites were great and worked and the work done was at the time revolutionary in the movie biz from what I understand.

Did anyone else think Max Winters looked like Mr. Incredible?

anything looks more realistic than CGI ya know what I mean? Anything that is actually IN the real world will always look more realistic than something done on a computer.

Yes! I even said the humans looked like the incredibles... it irritated me, was it the same company that did that movie?

Max Winters was quite obviously Mr. Incredible's "father." (looks like an earlier design for Bob Parr, basically.) The face was nearly identical, with that nose bridge and broad jaw.

I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night! Soon there will be a string of gas stations, inexpensive motels, restaurants that serve rapidly prepared food! Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see! My God... It'll be beautiful.

Of course it looks REAL, but does it look good done in real life? Not all the time, sure the suites are cool and it was great for the 90s. But in this day in age CGI allows them to make the movie will lower cost and not have to spend MILLIONS in ONE DAY to use the Turtles in a scene.

As mentioned before, the suits weigh 80 pounds and they did the filming during the summer on the East Coast. If anyone lives or has visited the East Coast during the summer months, it is hot, humid and brutal. This movie cost a fraction of what another live-action movie would cost.

Oh I was thanking the ones who agreed with me about Winters resembling Mr. Incredible. I guess I should have quoted them so it didn't look like I was replying to you.

Another good point as to why CGI was the way to go

I think the filmakers knew going in that some people would dislike the cgi and some would love it. The sad part of it is that some "fans" dismiss the entire movie simply based on their opinion that live-action is superior to cgi. IMO, there is no wrong way, but personally I liked the cgi angle. Shake it up for the new generation of fans. They have already established us (everyone on this forum) as fans. Live action has already been done, it was great, but so was CGI.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm not saying live action is wrong(and I think u were just making the general statement when you said it) I'm just saying CGI is the BETTER choice for concerns for the studio about the cost of the suites and etc

Yeah, either way is right. I'm am curious though to see what a 2007 live action version would look like. If they made a good movie in 90, just imagine what we could have got.

BTW I'm not disrespecting the movie. Personally I loved the cgi. I'm only saying, I wonder what they could have done.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think we all do. I'm sure it would look good and ten times better then the animatronics from the 90s.

If the CG franchise is popular enough, then who knows? Some talented group of creative geniuses might get together to make a great live-action TMNT film that uses motion capture for its actors -- this way, you greatly reduce the cumbersomeness of rubber suits, AND you can make the characters EXPRESSIVE.

But for now, I am very, very happy with CG -- frankly, I almost prefer it to real life. I like how it feels both real and like a comic book.
