^ X-men Evolution was hardly an insult to the 90's X-men, it was a great cartoon on its own terms.

People need to stop saying everything is crap just because its not like the show you grew up with. That's why so many old toon TMNT fans never gave the 2k3 series a chance because it was "too different."

That's why the 2k3 series got so much unwarrented hate by people just because it didn't have Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and the Technodrome.

I knoooow that, heh. Maybe I'm not phrasing this correctly.

I mean, have it on TV where EVERYone can see it, like how the 2K3 series was available on TV. Not having to search for it and all that.

Agreed. Evolution has a cult fanbase, did it's own thing, and is actually seen by most as a definitive X-Men cartoon, and the first original one of it's kind given how much of the 1990's series was influenced by Claremount adaptations and other older storylines.

I really loved the fact that Evolution wasn't so Wolverine heavy, which alone makes it a winner in my book.

what ever happens I just hope to God that the gritty comic book feel of the show returns and the mature complex character depictions is brought back. I'll never forgive FF for watering down the turtles characters

I didn't mind X-Men: Evolution. I adore Nightcrawler, and he seemed to be in Evolution more than I remember in the original series. Not having much experience with FF, I can't say how I think it compares with that.

Well, even if the show does come to a complete stop, at least we have the comics.

When people change things that do not need to be changed, they are saying "hey we can do it better" therefore setting high standards which are expected to be met. Otherwise it is an insult to the original series which got cancelled in exchange for something else. X-Men: Evolution had absolutely nothing on the X-Men 90's cartoon. I will debate that one with God Himself if He wishes. The same could be said for FF. They were saying "we can do it better than the 2003 series" and they were wrong. Plain and simple. I can't even read X-Men comics anymore because Marvel cannot stop ruining them. They were PERFECT in the early to mid 90's. Had awesome costumes, characters, line-ups and powers. Marvel keeps destroying X-Men by changing their costumes, making this member leave, making that member lose their powers and bringing in a bunch of new characters that no one cares about.

Um that's not what they said with the 2k3 series by changing it into Fast Forward the reason it was changed was to make it more kid friendly and that's exactly what they did.

You might joke, but I'm serious. I think too many people get wound up in the TV series. The comics have always had just as good, if not better story arcs and they're geared towards the general demographic that visits this board. Even the stories the cartoons are based on are better in the comics. Everyone complains about how FF kiddified the Turtles, but it's a cartoon show aimed at a particular demographic. Our age group has the comics, which are floundering in sales because we all get too wound up in a TV show!

Does this make you proud of me. I was a big old toon fan. I heard about the new toon, and for the first two episodes I saw, I revolted on the no pupils thing. But I got over it and now love that show far more than the old toon!

Okay, what if nothing changed? What if it was all exactly the same as it was back in the 90's? Just think about that. What if the last 15 years of X-Continuity had all been based around the 90's Xmen and didn't change? Or hang on, how about if Gwen Stacy wasn't killed in Spider-man, or if they never decided to give Spidey the black costume? What if Shadow was never brought into the Turtles? What if House of M never happened? You see a pattern forming? Repetition is a tiresome thing, and without change, stories and characters can't progress. You might not like it, but that's not saying everyone else thinks the same way, and clearly they don't otherwise they wouldn't've changed. It's like people blowing chunks when Spidey unmasked, the story opportunities expand immensely when you do something like that, but fans don't ever seem to see that.

Marvel was crap in the mid 90's. Too much Wolverine, Venom, the Clone Saga, Rob Liefield.

I think I made my point.

Actually I wouldn't have complained in the least if X-Men stayed the same as they were back in the 90's. There are dozens of stories I would have loved to see take places featuring the 90's X-Men but they never happened. Once Wolverine lost his adamantium in #25, X-Men was on a downward fall from that point on. I loved X-Men Adventures the best (even though it was the cartoon) only because it featured the X-Men the way that I loved them the best (until the artwork went to hell in the middle of the 3rd season). But X-Men were much more popular in the 90's because Marvel had a perfect team. Then they decided to screw themselves by doing the Age Of Apocalypse storyline and after that X-Men never recovered. Onslaught was decent but "feral" Wolverine looked ridiculous. Then when the movies came out they went to the boring black costumes...I didnt even bother buying those. Then they tried to redeem themselves with #156 onward but Rogue losing her super strength and flying ability sucked bad. But as long as she was in her normal green and yellow uniform I didn't complain, but (as Marvel always does) they decided to screw themselves over again and move her back out of that costume and put her in that ridiculous boring hooded green robe again. So I am tired of all the changes Marvel keeps making to X-Men. I either want the normal, PERFECT X-Men team back (Wolverine, Professor X, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Archangel, Iceman, Colossus, Psylocke, Cyclops, Jubilee, etc.) or else I couldn't care less where the X-Men go from here. The same for TMNT. I either want back the ones where they used real martial arts weapons (2003) or I'd rather have no TMNT at all.

See if you want it so bad, then just go with the comics. Fast Forward, once again, is aimed at children. IF older fans like it, sweet, more viewers, but if not it doesn't particularly matter because they're not the core audience! With everything that's happened in the X-universe, it doesn't seem particularly likely that you'll have that team again for a long while. And why say something was terrible when you didn't even bother reading them?
