how about TMNT boys compared to the best friend foursome from That 70's Show ? What are the personality similarities with Feze, (is that hows its spelled?) Eric Forman, Michael Kelso, and Steven Hyde with Don, Raph, Leo and Mikey?

A friend of mine recently (and successfully) compared the four Turtles to the four girls in Bubblegum Crisis. They're seriously not unique personality types.

It isn't a perfect match, but I think Foreman would be Leo, Kelso would be Mike, Hyde would be Raph, and Fez as Don. Fez isn't the smartest, but seems to have many other Don-esque traits. Hyde's the badass, very Raph. Kelso is the funny, not-as-smart one, even though Mike has proven not to be dumb in other mediums. Eric is clearly the glue that holds them together, they meet in his garage and count on him a lot, making him the leader, i.e. Leo.

TMNT as Bubblegum Crisis- at least the 2040 version, since that's the one I have watched.

Donatello would definitely be Nene Romanova

But the other 3, it is not so clear cut

Beast = Don
Wolverine = Raph
Gambit = Mike

I know the Ninja Turtles have basic personalities and there are other teams like them, but the X-Men and Fantastic 4 are the only ones I can come up with really.

Leo- Keith
Donnie- Pidge
Mikey- Hunk
Raph- Lance (best match of the bunch)

Voltron is a fivesome...but Lance is A LOT like Raphael!

No matter how hard I try, I cannot quite match them to the Planeteers. The only one that comes even close to being a good match is Mikey for Wheeler.

I actually think the Turtles are, as a foursome, pretty hard to apply to other foursomes. I suppose each group has a smart one, a sensible one, a funny one and a rebel, but the Turtles are so complex I have difficulty finding any of them to be very similar with other characters.

I think it's a good question, though. Obviously they work pretty well as X-Men. I haven't seen enough Golden Girls or Sex and the City to compare. As for That 70s Show ... I like the comparison but it's still kind of hard. Because no one is really Fez or Kelso (okay, maybe Mikey is a little Kelso). Leo works okay as Foreman though, and Raph works as Hyde.

Let's try, um ... Beast Wars!
Leo - Optimus Primal (OT Leo would be Silverbolt, so Splinter can be Optimus)
Don - Rhinox
Raph - Rattrap
Mike - Well, Cheetor I guess. Or he can be Rattrap; Raph can be Dinobot.

What other possible comparisons are there? I am drawing a blank on any actual comparable foursomes, so I'll just select random characters.

Peter: Raphael
