I'm like WTF?!

I was afraid of this repeating in Hellboy II, but no, they tell you the story of the Golden Army in the beginning. I was happy with that. Why the hell did they have to waste those minutes in TMNT when they could have put it to better use? Run out of ideas? Kids aren't stupid, they don't need it repeated.

Count your blessings. They could have easily retold the origen all over again for the trillionth time. I think having 2 minutes of prologue is a good balance.

Yeah, I can help ya there. AWFUL characterization, not great voice... It goes on. The 1990 movie had tons of problems, but I still like it. The 2007 one was ok, also. I guess if I had to vote between the two of them, I'm not really sure, but I have seen the 1990 one more than twice, which is all I saw of the 2007 one, if that means anything.

Oh yes yes...at the beginning is fine, I liked that in TMNT and HBII; TMNT could have omitted the retelling by April though. We know the story, get on with the movie!

In my opinion, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie hands down, is undoubtedly one the best comic book adaptions ever made. Well for many reasons, it had a dark mature tone, it was more of a PG-13/R film than PG, Jim Henson's turtles and splinter animatronics/costumes were awesome, Shredder and the Foot looked insanely good, Judith Hoag & Elias Koteas played April and Casey Jones perfectley, John Du Prez's scores were outstanding, Raph was such a badass (yeah I'm proud to be a Raph fan), the sets were well designed, basically every scene was well thought out and filmed excellently (we've got Steve Barron to thank for that). This is what basically made me a fan.

TMNT 2007......There can't even be a comparison here between these two movies. There where countless things that gave me more reasons not to like this movie. I don't know but to me, the plot so f***ing senseless with all these random characters. I didn't like how the cg humans looked, all deformed and everything. The yoatl intro put me to sleep. The voice acting was weak. The list goes on.

TMNT 1990 wins the medal.

...umm I'm guessing fast foward is the very first incarnation or thing of tmnt you've ever seen right? and I'm not being sarcastic.

I get the sense that the 1900-hater (Raphael_) is a lone wolf encountering a pack of the unaccepting.

I'm all for vicious debate. However, if Raphael_ doesn't reply back in the next couple of days, I ask for his first post to remain criticized no further. Fans have to defend their convictions, but never take it so far as to become cannibals. My threads are for people with class.

That's something that's really nice about TMNT movies in general, though. Even in the first one where a more in-depth version of the origin was told, it didn't take like half the movie to tell the story.

Unless you're talking about the TMNT and their first encounters with the Foot being an origin story, its not really that bad.

1990 flick for me. The realism of it all was mind-blowing back then. Even though I've been watching the cartoon for 3 years, I still saw this movie and went along with the story despite the fact it was more an adaptation of the Mirage books. There was no Krang, no Bebop or Rocksteady, and no Technodrome, but it was friggin awesome.

Even though I really like the '07 CGI film, the classic live-action release of 1990 holds more in my mind as a fan.

The first Ninja Turtles from 1990, no contest.

I'm sure it takes a lot of effort to make a CGI movie, but making live action turtles seems much more impressive to me. The original movie seemed to have a lot more action and more of the turtles. Plus it's a great adaptation of the Mirage comic books, with a little bit of the cartoon thrown in so kids won't be left completely baffled as to why the turtles are a bit different than what they've seen on TV.

I Choose the original 1990 movie for the following ;

- The darker tone made it more Mirage comics than Fred Wolf Toon.

- The original movie blew my mind as a kid. Live action Ninja Turtles ? HELL YEAH !!!!

- The soundtrack was dope as hell . M.C Hammer's " This is what we do ", Technotronic's " Spin that Wheel ", Riff's " Family", Spunkadelic's " 9.95", and Partners N Kryme " Turtle Power " were the best tracks.

- Shredder whooping the turtles, then being taken out by Splinter. Classic.

- Rapheal was a bad ass.

- The 2007 movie just plain sucked. The story was juevenile, the monsters corny, and the turtles looked more realistic than the humans. Plus I hate CGI animated movies. 2-D is good enough for me.

First movie. To see "real Turtles!" in a movie as a kid was phenomenal. As an adult, I really appreciate the tone of the movie. For the most part, the cast was spot-on, and the story/action really flowed. It's a movie you didn't want to end.

Don't get me wrong, I love the CGI movie, too, but in a different way. Also, not being much of a rap fan, I like the song selection much more in the last movie than in the first.

For me, it was back when rap was worth listening to.

TMNT 90, because I have a nostalgic investment in it....

That and it's a whole lot more realistic and the characters are more well developed.

It also had a superbly characterized Shredder. The villain in this movie is straight from the comics, albeit with some slight backstory altering.
