Two things I noticed, that were truly bizarre:
-Why was the chest where Serling was stashed in the Turtles' room? If Splinter were trying to keep the toy from them, he should have kept the chest in his room. -After the Turtle Tots retrieved Serling from the chest, Raphael tackled Leonardo and Donatello out of the lair, but a couple of seconds, later, Michelangelo was kneeling in the sewer water, dripping wet, as if he had been knocked in as well, when in reality, he was further back and not even in the scene where Raphael attacked.

it sort of bothered me too that the turtles didn't jump at the chance to go gather more of Splinter's bits, and even more so that Serling didn't present it to all the turtles as his decoy to get them out of the lair instead of coming up with petty past times to occupy them.
All that put aside I did enjoy the way Serling went about getting them out of the lair, it was funny. I did like seeing Splinter again and I agree he looked a bit younger here. But He still had that regal look he has from his new BTTS design. I really missed seeing Splinter and all his wise monalogues, he's always so right when he gives advice. ANd it was just cool to see him being a father to the boys. And I don't care I liked seeing the boys as tots and acting that way, running around fighting over a toy was just so in character for small children. I noticed they all acted more alike when they where younger. I got a real kick out of Mikey running down the halls with a shopping cart with a mountain of toys halloring his heart out. It's exactly what I would have done at his age if I saw an entire store full of toys. Little kid heaven! Was I the only one supriced thay Mr. Wendell was actually going to hurt those turtles? There where practically babies still and he was going to harm them. I was pretty shocked also that Splinter didn't go ape sh*t on the man for attacking his defenceless little children, actually he seemed pretty forgiving about it. Quote:

It wasn't the worst episode out of the series. I believe all the Turtle Titan/Justice Force episodes are worse (along with many of the FF episodes). However it is definitely my least favorite of the BTTS episodes. I am also puzzled why it is only Don breaking his neck to get Splinter. Don and Leo especially should be equally as concerned and obsessed with getting Splinter back. Ever since FF, Leo has just seemed to be less of a leader to them and doesn't seem like the strong authority figure that he used to be, and I miss that. Even in Ninja Tribunal, he was put more in the background, and without much explanation as to why.
Serling is funny in some episodes of FF, but so far I haven't cracked a smile once during these new episodes. In fact, none of these new episodes have impressed me beyond being as good as maybe the best FF episodes. None of them (FF included) have even come close to touching the best episodes of the first 4 seasons. I will even say that the very last episode of TMNT that I was truly impressed with was "Ninja Tribunal" (where they fight the wooden guys on the rooftop before getting captured). Every fight since that episode has done very little for me and I yearn for more scenes like that where battles are well choreagraphed and every turtle gets some highlight moments. Just watching my "Season 2 Part 2" dvds today made me realize how much I miss those episodes. Jack |

Like you said Leo doesnt seem like the tough leader he used to be which I miss to but its also very out-of-character for him. He was more of a leader in the old toon than he has been recently in FF and BTTS As far as the episode goes I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I never liked the fact that Serling came back with them but it was a pretty fun episode, course it was nothing compared to the previous episode with Shredder and Baxter...oh man that was the closest thing to 2k3 awesomeness weve had in a long time. Only thing that bothered me, and has since it was anounced that they would pick up after FF, is that at the end the turtles had the childhood memory of Serling and the toys, which would have never happend had Serling didnt come back with them...which would have never happend had they never met up with Viral...which would have never happend had they never time-traveled to the future. WHY DID FAST FORWARD HAVE TO HAPPEN!

it did happen lets try to get past that alright. You know what I just noticed upon rewatching this episode. Mikey actually challenging Raph to a fight over the toy and actually attacking him. O.O When did Mikey become skittish around Raph where he quakes in fear and runs from him? tot Mikey wasn't afraid of him at all!

Cute episode I agree. Gotta like TMNT as tots.
I was surprised their personalities didn't change much. Toddler Raph was still angst for his age. Funny part, Toddlet Mikey pushing a shopping cart, loaded with toys. He would make a great contestant on Supermarket Sweep (LOL).

Calling him ugly for one thing. I forget which turtle decided to toss him. Though, in all fairness, most of the turtles treat him like crap from time to time. I really wish that he and Donatello would have formed more of a bond this season.
Anyone notice that the Preteenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had Bunk beds, just like in the 80's cartoon? I forgot all about that until last night.

Is it sad that I'm only now going to respond to something on the last page?
Cypher, you say that this episode show the "predestination view of time travel," and trust me I see it, but it also ret-cons the fact that there is a group of people who take care of anomalies in the time stream, Lord Simultaneous and Renet. If those people and the time scepter exist to fix time incursions, then why haven't they showed up for this. Unless this is all supposed to happen...which is odd since it is totally polluting the time stream. And now my brain hurts. As much as I love time travel, these paradoxes give me a migraine.

True... all this time travel is pretty hokey if you already have characters like Simultaneous and Renet in the show. Hell, where was Savanti in Fast Forward?

The only explanation as far as Renet and Simultaneous are concerned is that they're a ditz and an asshole respectively (really, those are their character traits), and time will run based on whatever arbitrary whims they have. Also, it's cool that you spell my username with a "y." Makes it more classy. Quote:

So I'm not the only one seeing stuff 'burrowed' from 1986-1996 TMNT cartoon? I also noticed the evil toys. Oh yeah, the battery joke was used too, shut off the evil toy. I forgot which episode that was from, but it was about the alien kid dangerous toy that was overheating that could destroy the earth, and April solved the problem by taking out the battery.
The Turtle tots never bothered me, I like seeing episodes with them in it. Did someone say Klunk will be shown in the next episode? Really? What does he look like in color? |

They had those back in the original lair, I saw them in episode 1, and when they have flashbacks from their childhood.
