I hope that there is a ps2 version, but I wish that it will come out for 360...

Look at that beautiful MSRP of $29.99. An economical thrill as well as a gamer thrill.

Like all Wii/PS2 games, the Wii gets a $20 wii tax. Freaking lame.

As far as the new box art its horrible, the old box art was awesome, and they changed it to this?

Well like I mentioned, since hearing this was coming to PS2 as well about two months ago my interest in the game dropped a lot.

This being a PS2 game also is the worst thing that can happen. Sure any technodromers that don't have a Wii are happy now but you get to play the game at a cost of the games quality. It is now being built on basically 10 year old hardware.

I honestly wasn't expecting it to be anything more than that, so I can't say I'm disappointed by this.

I'm also predicting that we won't see any characters outside of Mirage/2K3/CGI movie universes. If this is the case, the use of the old school-ish logo is quite interesting (or just a marketing ploy).

Well the Wii may be more recent hardware, but it's got about equal graphic quality to the PS2, maybe slightly better. Honestly I wish they would have made a TMNT game for the 360, something awesome could have come from that I think, but since they already took the low road graphically and chose the Wii, I imagine the PS2 was not a difficult port.

The Gamecube which came out a year after the PS2 was already superior to the PS2. In fact Gamecube games generally looked much better than PS2 games and exclusives were definitely noticeable. Just compare RE4 on Gamecube and PS2.

The Wii is not big on horse power but it is still superior to the original Xbox which was the superior hardware last gen. All games looked better on Xbox.

Wii exclusive games can look amazing, there are plenty of examples for this.

However the problem the Wii has is the PS2 still outsells the PS3 on occasions, developers are cheap and want to milk their games to all they can get. Its not easy to port a PS3/360 game to the Wii. So they make a Wii game and port it to the PS2 since it has the most similar hardware. However they can't port a Wii game since its superior so they make a PS2 game and port it to the Wii. This is why a lot of Wii games look graphically superior than Gamecube games..... Not only that, to make it work for the PS2, they make a regular game and just add motion controls. When motion controls work better when the game is designed for them from the start.

This is also were most of Wii's shovelware comes from...

The recent trailer did get me hyped up again (though the new DTV bringing me into full turtle mode again helped) But yeah the game being a PS2 game was like the final nail to the coffin for the game, since the quality is potentially a lot lower because of it. The fact that Ubisoft is making the game was also not a good sign, they built up a terrible reputation these past years. Also counting everything so far is from the new movie or 2k3 toon, like Rose I am not holding much hope besides one character or two to surprise us with from Mirage.

I hope to be proven wrong and it could still be awesome.

I mean they haven't revealed the characters yet so maybe they are holding on to some megatons. And the Ghostbusters Wii game seems to be pretty good and thats also a PS2/Wii game. So who knows. I never expected this to be better than Smash bros. Brawl, but as long as its a decent game, the character list is not terrible, I will be one happy turtle fan.

Basically I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worse.

I'm still looking forward to this more than the TiT remake, thats looking pretty bad.

You know you just contradicted yourself by saying they port Wii games to PS2, then say it's not possible? And I'm pretty certain - not positive, but certain - that since the PS2 version is just now coming to light, that the Wii version may have been developed first.

Not really. Most of Wii's shovelware comes from companies cramming lousy party and copycat games onto the Wii.

I don't see how you gather that....

Didn't we establish this pages ago? Ubisoft themselves are just overseeing, directing, and publishing the project. The meat and bones are being done by GameArts and former Team Ninja members. And although Ubisoft has dropped some logs in the bowl, they've also made a lot of kickass stuff. I'm still drooling over what I've seen of Assassin's Creed II, and I haven't even played the first one yet.

This is what I'm hoping. They're being so hush-hush... honestly I don't care if it doesn't have characters like Bebop & Rocksteady and Jagwar or not (though I'd prefer if it did). As long as it has a solid cast, I'm good.

Thumbs down

I'll post my opinion on the characters:

Turtles: The promotional art and interviews led me to believe they were going to get awesome turtle designs. But they went with the movie turtles which looked nothing like the promotional art....The promotional art seemed like the TMNT action figures which were a mix between the cartoon and mirage. We got the movie turtles instead only without pupils. I really liked the movie designs and would have loved the choice had they not teased us with the other designs first... but in the end I still like the designs.

Splinter - I would have liked an original design that looked more fighter-esque. I'm not sure I guess 2k3 or movie splinter were the best to choose from without having an original design splinter. So I'm alright with movie splinter but would have preferred a new design. (hope he has a bow)

April - Now out of all the Aprils the most iconic one is OT April and I would have loved to seen her, she could have had crazy fun attacks too with her video camera and what not..Or they should have made a new April that looked like a fighter. However I do like movie April and she's basically the only April (besides Genesis Tournament Fighters April) that actually has some fighting gear and looks like she can hold her own so I'm alright with her as well.

Casey Jones - Again I like his movie design but would have preferred an original Casey Jones, more similar to like the OT were he just looks crazy.

Foot Soldier - I thought a Foot Soldier was going to be in the game for obvious reasons. I would have wanted the first movie's foot soldiers but as you've noticed I liked all the TMNT 2k7 movie character designs so I'm ok with him...

Shredder - When the NT first came out I loved Shredders new design. But now I prefer the more human one (less armor not because he's an Utrom). I definitely wanted a more human with less armor shredder.. And you know its not event he NT Shredder, its the same Shredder from the new movies videogame. Sure that Shredder was pretty much the NT Shredder except for maybe some very slight tweaks however the point is they are just using old models they already have instead of actually creating something for the game and thats a shame.

Am I the only guy who actually wanted to play as a Foot Soldier? It's kind of cool being able to fight back using the ones who always get beat up. I was disappointed I couldn't play as a Foot Solider in Turtle Tournament Fighters back in the day.

No, I was looking forward to the Foot Ninja coming back. They were a lot of fun in Mutant Melee.

I didn't think any generic characters like the Foot Soldier would be playable, but I don't mind them being there at all. I expect they'll be pretty common in the story mode too. They're kinda like those hologram characters from SSB Melee except they have their own movesets and they're way cooler.

There's not a character in the game yet that I don't want to play. This game is already better than the Smash Bros series for me because I'm actually a fan of the whole cast rather than just 5-6 characters.

I just hope that besides Karai, they add someone that's NOT Foot or Turtle related like Bishop, Leatherhead and Rat King. The Utrom character is the only non-Turtles-VS-Foot character so far in the game.

So does having Utrominator mean no Krang with exoskeleton? Hope not. I want Krang, dang-dammit.

Not necessarily, but it does lower his chances.

Probably not. Unless they use that as an excuse for 'Utrominator VS Krang' match or something. Logo aside, I still see the chance of any OT characters very VERY slim. At best they could just give the TMNT, Splinter, Casey, April, the Foot Ninja and Shredder OT designs as their alternate outfits or something.

If theres OT characters then theres definitely going to be a Krang regardless. If there isn't any OT character then yeah this would be the closest to a replacement.

I have a question though, Mirage doesn't own any of the original OT characters right?
If they don't how come Archie could use them?
What about the Archie original characters are they owned by Archie or Mirage?
And basically same question for the 2007 movie and new toon (and Venus of TNM).
