This is something that I'm hoping for, actually. Probably won't happen, but I'm still going to hope for it.

I loved (and still love) the 2003 cartoon. The first four season were gold with their storytelling and fight scenes. And, yes, characters. Yeah, they didn't hit the nail right on the head every time with each episode, but the stories were interesting at least.

And, while I do cringe a bit watching the old cartoon, there is a charm to it I don't think will be recaptured if Nick continues pressing for a CGI show. The bad guys, while non-threatening, were down right cheesy and pathetic to the point you couldn't help but love them.

It'll be hard to get a balance, but if Nick can get it just right if they go down that path...

To me, the thing that makes me wary is the CG sh*t.

I don't think any of us feel that a CG show is the way to go.

Oh, I definitely prefer traditional animation and I'd pay extra for the DVDs if it were traditional animation. Hopefully they decide to go with that instead of CG.

As long as they can still pull off nice fight scenes, then I too, agree with that. I am not a fan of CG tv shows. And the only thing I liked about the 2007 TMNT movie was the fight between Leo and Raph. The rest was pretty much a waste of time and effort.

I don't think they will go with traditional though. Nick is sort of in a CGI and Live Action boom at the moment. Well, in Australia at least. No idea what's going on in the US right now...

Yes, they have 2D/Traditional animation shows, but it's more common to find the former there. Probably because it's easier/faster to animate or something. All they need are actors or rigged models and BAM. No need to draw anything. Kinda depressing actually.

I have no problem with CGI, hopefully it will have decent budget and good visual direction.

I wish the CG could look as good as the 4th movie, but I doubt they have that budget for a regular series.

Well, I'm hoping we get 87 style Casey Jones as a regular. He was so damn insane which made him so damn awesome.

My only regret will be that if they dig into the 80's too much and forget the comics/2K3 altogether, we'll never see Karai or the Foot Elite ever again... I liked those guys.

And what about Baxter? Black and bad ass in the comics.... but the white guy DID turn into the Fly.... so I dunno.

Karai, I could give or take, but the Elite were... well, Elite and badass. They also had the best fight music in the 2k3 series.

Why do you guys act as if it would be ALL 80's or ALL Mirage?

This show will probably take characters from any aspect of the TMNT universe. It could very well have classic 80's characters like Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady while also having Karai, Hun, Triceratons and other characters.

Nick can take villains from any TMNT universe. They could bring back Lord Dregg if they wanted.

Because on the internet, there is no such thing as compromise or middle ground.

It all boils down to one thing:

What do boys love?

If ten year old boys love space dinosaurs or aliens? We'll probably see the Triceratons and Krang again. They like seeing boobalicious ninjas from Japan? We'll have Karai. Or April with Double-D boobs.

But there's nothing stopping them making new characters now, is there? We could have "Bucky the Toy Tortoise" as a main character/sidekick if they wanted to. Whatever draws new blood into the network, ya know?
