really? Man thats a bummer here I was thinking the ot turtles would be in the next series with krang and shredder. So it was just a pun to shredders giggle ray idea?

Hey if i remember correctly the 1987 turtles cartoon, Krang was a lot more serious than Shredder. Im just going to throw it out there......The next series will open up with ot shredder creating a giggle ray that Krang invented and its up to the OT to save the day.

Man I am all for a more light hearted version of the turtles cartoon using the ot charecters. I really feel the best parts of the movie were the ot because they made me laugh and crap. Also might be the nostalgic factor. Well ill stop now.

every one of the old turtles used a part of their personality effectivley, don= ridiculous invention, raph= breaking 4th wall, mike=being mike, with the exception of leo, he didn't lead or rally the turtles at all unless I'm forgetting a scene, that was a little dissapointing

Well, check that:
"They're right, this is serious! I say we go to our Lair, pick up our anti-technodrome gear, and go put it to good use! But first, we have to save April!"

Also, it was his idea for the OT Turtles to go eat lunch in broad daylight. I guess that's leadership...

4Kids series, yes. Fred Wolf series, no. Fred Wolf characters, yes.

Lionsgate still has the rights to release the Fred Wolf series, so that's up to them (for now). Nickelodeon has the right to find a distributor for the 4Kids series, whether it be themselves or someone else.

Only as much truth as rumor ever has.

we know next to nothing...wait, we know NOTHING about the 3rd animated series. That's something that will learn about years from now. Let's just say that even though Viacom owns the franchise, it's on hiatus for now.

well that's good news, if viacom owns the rights to the 4kids series and can still release dvds then that means we could still see ninja turtles 2k3 season 3 parts 1 and 2, released on dvd correct?

Same as the movie presentation did, with a brief, five second spelling of the movie title. What I'd like to know is how they plan to handle it for Part Two. That'll be a tad more interesting.

I just watched this last night and it was cool seeing the OT turtles, enemies, and universe again on TV. That being said the bashing of the OT was way over the top. The OT was much more corny than 2K3 so yeah, throw some of those jokes in there. But instead they recycled the same formula over and over again. OT turtles do something completely stupid, then the 2K3 turtles in disbelief over how dumb their counterparts are, "Haha lulz", and repeat. Over and over with this "bashing" you could say. It's regular occurrence really made this an almost unbearable 90 minutes.

I kove how people overexaggerate the thrashing of the original characters, considering that REALLY didnt happen and they'd have to be stupid to think otherwise.

I loved the 1980s series and I loved that this was a valentine to it as much as a critique from characters that arent used to thier world.

"An unberable 90 minutes", get over yourself please. Some of us could do with people giving credible reasons to dislike something

1. The modern TMNT didnt do jack s*it in this movie except whine

2. The 1980s characters, despite thier perceived "inferiority", pushed the entire plotline along. It was 1980s Donatello that creates the Dimension Stick that brings them all to Turtle Prime

3. Rocksteady and Bebop save the mutliverse and defeat Ch'rell, by all definition the "one true Shredder"

Complain all you want, but the 1980s series was given the ball the whole movie, got to remind fans of what they were (fun), and whilst all the modern Turtles did was be tremendously cyncial and angsty, THEY came off as nothing but sore losers whilst the 1980s Turtles had fun, got a little emotional at times, but collected themselves and faced danger with a smile on thier faces. That was a positive message to send.

Anyone faulting the movie for doing what it did are no better than the modern TMNT's attitude in the film...dry, cyncial, grim, souless...and more than a little boring.

They bashed the viewer over the head with the same shtick for the better part of the movie. It got old fast.

You're saying I cannot dislike Turtles Forever because this is not a credible reason? My mistake. Carry on.

I personally didn't think the OT turtles were picked on for being what they were, characters from a comedic 80s action cartoon. Aside from the annoying noogie attacks and the crying scene, Turtles Forever did a pretty good job portraying the OT turtles and their world.

And the 2k3 turtles reaction were well done as they acted as they should have when interacting with characters that were essentially cartoonish cartoon characters.

I'm going to have to agree with this besides the last part. Making the 80's turtles come off as stupid and useless was the only problem I had with this movie. Because as we all know they could kick some ass with the best of them. If I had a kid watching this I would be pretty bummed by how they represented the gang I grew up with. Sure they liked to goof off and have fun but at the end of the day always got the job done. Other than that I really liked it.

I watched this and it was epic. I didn't like how the 1987 turtles were portrayed in some scenes, especially the crying. I don't remember those turtles ever crying.

I liked the movie myself, and I thought the ragging on the 80s turtles was funny at times. For instance when the 2k3 turtles came to the 80s turtles world I found it hilarious, and there were quite a few jokes that was also funny. The only thing I didn't like was making the 80s turtles pathetic crybabies compared to the "oh so superior" 2k3 version. Stuff like that was just a slap in the face to people (not saying myself) who grew up with the 80s version. It's not about nostalgia it's about respect, and the 80s turtles deserved a lot more than they were given in that movie.

Even so I thought it was the best turtles movie ever made.
