Comic April and Punker Don

These weren't too hard to do, April is simply a re-paint, and some augmentation, after removing the pockets from her jumpsuit. I based this mostly off of the Richard Corben painting for TMNT #2.

Bright pink, orange and green? This is Punk Rock Don, not New Wave Don! So I repainted all the bright colors, and added some detail. At the time it didn't make sense that a turtle would have hair, so I shaved his head.

Haha these are really cool. I LOVE the april, she'd go good with the ninja action line from back in the day as they were based on the mirage look (short of the colored bandanas that is). I do really like the repaint of don, in the pants/boots, though I wish you woulda kept some of the color & perhaps painted his mohawk hot pink or neon green. I used to hang out with mad punx when I lived in NY & I can assure you there was no shortage of neon. Of course this before the hipsters started wearing them so that may have phased out by now. Anyhow, yeah, April is siiiick.

In California, neon wasn't restricted, but it wasn't really prevailant like it was with this figure having 3 bright colors. The new wavers and skate punks were the ones with most of the neon. (Gah, I had pink Vision Street Wear shorts, and neon pink Rector skate gloves myself

But I painted the gloves black with the MIsfits real big on one fist and a row of pyramid studs on the other. I let a GF have the shorts)

In hindsight I would've left the mohawk on.
I want to get Heavy Metal Raph, & Rapping Mike and geve them a workover, then get some to leave stock. I have Classic Rock Leo, bet hes cool, as is.

Pretty nice mods--I particularly like the paintwork on Don's jeans. I agree that you should've kept the mohawk.

It's an aftermarket GI Joe stand. Its too tight of a fit to recommend. I made some bases made out of foamcore for the tipsy Aprils, and use Elmer's and glue 'em down, but I just unpacked a bunch of stuff and this one didn't have a stand, so I just grabbed what was close.

Damn I was sure of havin' already comment taht one but apparently I've seen that one in my dream (sometimes I have real premonitions) well , Just awesome customs , even if you say they weren't hard to do, I'm still amazed , Punker Don is so Naughty , I love the face and the teeth just sick.and April's so charming ^^like that devil in blue dress (ehh jumpsuit) nice work dude you won 3 pizza points

Wow love em. Donny looks pretty much a tough guy and April looks like the gal he would want to have riding on the back of his Harley.
