Man, the figures for the new line look so cool! Too bad you can't see much of Shredder and Splinter, I want a closer look!

This has to be the best pre-Toy Fair annoucement ever! Very happy to have been wrong... now I just can't wait to see if they reveal any more at Toy Fair.

Must say I was prepared to absolutely love the Classics line and pretty much pass on the Nick line, but after seeing the reveals my opinion has pretty much switched. Maybe it's the over articulation in the chest, maybe it's the faces not being as "happy" as I picture the OT Turtles, maybe its just that their limbs look a little skinny compared to their bodies IMO, but something just looks a little off. They're still great figures and easily the best representations of the classic OT TMNT we've ever been given, but they don't look like they've just jumped off the screen to me. I'll probably still get them, but I think my desire for the Classic line hinges on what comes next. If they do a killer Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Splinter and April then I'll be sold!

The Nick figures I honestly don't think I've ever been so happy about wanting to spend money on figures (not counting Hot Toys). I was prepared for these to look terrible, and quite happy to pass on the line (saving money for the Classics). But WOW!! Totally blown away. The 4 basic TMNT are probably my favorite figures Playmates has ever done, they took designs I wasn't crazy about and made them into something I want to buy. I'm coming to the US in June and I really hope they've on the shelves by then cause I want to bring them home and I don't want to wait for the UK to get them a year down the line. If the rest of the basic line is this quality then I'm in.

And can I just say for the record that playset is freaking awesome. I've not bought a playset since The Phantom Menace came out (and being honest I have nowhere to put one) but I might just break down and buy that if the price is good (same for the Shellraiser).

No it doesn't, I'm sure it's the talking turtles that are on display with the sewer.

Wow, let me try and get all my feelings out at once. WOW. These are looking like they will be rivaling my Neca set. They look that damn good.

The main Nick line is just beautiful! I love the entire design of the figures. I love how they gave Mikey chains on his chucks. Raphael's Sai look damn good. The sculpts on all of them are just sick. BUT, I think a very good reason these figures look so good is that paintjob. Which they probably won't have like that in the final product. Which is a shame. But these are purchased day one for sure. Same goes for the ''Classics'' line. Those are just amazing.

I might even purchase that lair! I can't wait to see in package pics!

Man, this just made my friggin' day!

These two most definitely have different paintjob, I really hope it's going to be the better one on final products...

I hate to say it but that Don on that cycle is most likely gonna be what we get. Still, a great lookig sculpt. Even if the paint job is bland with no shading.

Finally, the day has come and we got the first glimpse of the classic figs.

I have been so pumped by this line, but after seeing the pics... I don't know. Maybe my expectations were ridiculously high and specific?

I don't want to be that guy that seems to complain with no reason, but the truth is that I'm a little underwhelmed.

I was hoping these would be based on the Fred Wolf cartoon, in a way the TMNT figures have never been before despite what their packages said. These are not it as they:

- Have angry expressions in their faces as if they came straight out of the comics. It's true that they grimaced in the opening credits, but that wasn't their default look, as MOST of the time they sported a smirk or a smile. And this not only applies to Mike. Raph in particular needed a cocky smile. He was NOT "the angry one" in the toon.
- Different skin turtles between the turtles. They all should have Raph's shade of green.
- Leo's katanas have a shape different from the ones seen in the TV show.
- The colors of the weapons' handles (this is a minor gripe to be honest)
- The straps on Leo and Don!
- The belt buckles are the wrong color and use the wrong font.

Now if the idea was to make a mish mash of the many incarnations of the Turtles, that's OK I guess, but wanted the other thing. Because when you have a "classics" line that take elements from different incarnations, you're left with figures that don't resemble any of those incarnations in particular, and it's his own thing. For some people that is OK, but personally, I've been waiting for years for exact replicas of those Fred Wolf characters... seems like I'll have to keep waiting.

Their new three-toed feet look deformed.. like they continued mutating after the rest of their body finished.

Are there any close-ups of April or "Krang"?

If I recall (and some one like say Rose can chime in as well) The people from playmates & nick told us that there would be 2 different styles of paint jobs.
I told you guys they're going all out on this new stuff.
I'd not lie to ya
I really wish it translated into the new show because the internet is a buzz over the toys with joy and want.
The new show images not so much, very few and far between.
I pray the final models that will be in the show will blow everyone away as much as these toys have.

You'll probably have to wait until toy fair for that.

Yep, the sculpt is looking good, but if paint is bland....well at least we know how they would look with better paint, gotta do it myself then.
