I have nothing really against the Nick turtle designs, but they do look rather basic. They're probably fine for action scenes but I don't know how they'd fair in terms of emotions. Expressive faces on the Turtles are something that movie did very well. It also had very detailed scale patterns on them; something I just don't see in the Nick models. I do, however, appreciate how Nickelodeon put little quirks in the designs of each turtle. It's always great when the boys are more than just recolors.

I'm pretty confident they can avoid human designs as ugly as the 2007 film; it's merely a matter of making better choices.

So we now have our first glimpse at the new April in the Sewer Playset pic.

I'm getting all kinds of a teenage Penny Gadget vibe from her.

I second this...still not a fan of her being the guys' age, but oh well.

I had a toss-up on whenever she reminded me of Penny Gadget or the girl that helped out Sam and Max.

I went with a name people would remember

This new April looks a lot like Misty from the hips upward as she was also a redhead (Penny is blonde), complete with yellow shirt and short blue pants and ponytail. If it weren't for those long black shoes/socks, they would have been sororital twins! At least as it would have caused some confustion! But her function does have some Penny influences (instead of a magic book, something that reminds me of Donatello's sewer lab in the OT).

From what I can tell, I think her design is really good. I was slightly worried what she would look like, but this picture is definitely reassuring! I am seriously getting pumped up about this show! Please Nick don't let us down!

Hmm, April's design isn't too bad. She definitely looks young as she should being she's the guys' age. I also thought of Penny Gadget when I looked at this.

Hell-O, April O'Neil & Master Splinter!

http://www.mtv.com/videos/interview/...tml#id=1678323

Could the #5 on her shirt suggest her status as the unofficial "Fifth Turtle"?

Honest questions here guys (I'm kinda color blind), is April's shirt green or yellow? And is Splinter's kimono red?

You know... I think you're right!

"SPLINTER, come get your food!"

I still like the look though. It's interesting.

I was thinking yellow and pink-ish, myself.

Splinter looks a bit off compared to the stylization of the rest of the characters. Could be a less favorable pixel to plastic adaptation.

I thought Splinter's style did look out of place, almost as if he was made by another toy company.

Here's a better picture of him:

It's just the coloring....it looks way off. I've never seen a rat with that kind of color pattern. The rest of the design is fine.

I'm not digging the design all that well. They look too much like the 2007 toys. Well, I can't wait to see the other toyline with the classic comic action figures.

I do like the designs for The Utrom and Splinter though. I'm totally buying them if they come here to Iceland.
