Anyone have the three missing turtles episodes?

Just thought I would ask because its a shame that the episodes didn't make it onto the dvds and I'm sure that if the community came together we'd be able to archive these missing episodes in decent VHS rips so they can be viewed by everyone. Yes they are on youtube but the quality of those uploades is just awful and I think we could definetely do better. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

You're looking for pirated content. Sorry hombre, that stuff doesn't fly here. I feel you though, we all want those episodes on DVD.

Sorry, I hadn't really thought about it that way. The VHS's are obviously out of print and aren't being sold anywhere and the episodes are said to be lost and or missing supposedly keeping Lionsgate from actually putting them on Dvd's so nobody would be loosing any money, because nobodies making any off them. I just feel like we have an opportunity to preserve these episodes that may other wise be completely lost one day with the continuing dissolving quality in these VHS tapes. I'd understand if I was suggesting to upload material that is readily available in stores or has been in recent years, yes I agree that would be stealing and wrong. But if part of our culture is being neglected to be preserved by companies I feel we should take initiative ourselves. Please understand I don't mean to come off argumentative I'm just trying explain why I think it's important, and if they were ever released on DVD that'd be different and any uploaders who agreed to help could remove the material (like I said to steal money from anybody is not the motivation here, it's to preserve this media that hasn't been available for twenty years... besides most people including myself would rather them on an official DVD anyway), but lets be honest Lionsgate could care less about getting these out. I believe it's our job to save these episodes from being lost forever.

Yes, I have the VHS tapes to OUATM/POTT, but I'm not sure how to transfer a VHS to a DVD. I could always try to do it someday and upload it on Youtube denoting "higher quality" since Lionsgate won't take down an unreleased episode. And I tested the tapes a couple months ago and the quality is still very good for its age, with minimal snowy frames. If you're looking for them, expect Turtleoids to be a bit of a challenge to find as I was fortunate to get a copy in a lot of 8 VHS's for $8. The Turtles Awesome Easter VHS, which contains the Time Machine episode, is much easier to obtain since it caught the tail end of the fad and currently a copy on eBay goes for $5, including shipping.

I find this link from Tv Tropes a fascinating read about all the cartoons that need the proper DVD treatment, while only mentioning the 2k3 turtles. All of us who own these episodes will have to do what this link says: keep circulating the tapes!

Although they no longer produce the VHS copies, you can find them on eBay. That's where I got my copy of "Once Upon a Time Machine".

I'm glad there's some people interested in finally getting this ball rolling. Today I bought the time machine VHS and I have a VHS to DVD machine that I've used in the past to put some old VHS tapes that have never been put on DVD onto that format, so I can get on that as soon as it comes in the mail. The seller said the tape was in excellent shape so hopefully that was true. If you can get your versions to DVD somehow, pannoni1, we'll have two versions of the time machine episode to compare for quality and we can get POTT taken care of as well. My question is: does anyone have any recommendation for DVD ripping software and recommendations for the best quality outcomes. I admit although I’ve ripped DVD’s before to put onto my iPod I’m not a professional at it and just usually used default settings for either AVI and MP4’s, any recommendations as far as software and settings?

Yeah...this is totally against the rules. it's fine to make your VHS copy a DVD for personal use, but talk of making it available illegally online is explicitly against the forum rules.

Just got off the phone with Lionsgate. Told 'em it would really tick off what's-his-face if they didn't release Season 10. Their reply? "Good. We weren't going to anyway".

Does that mean this is illegal?

Again I'm trying to stress that my intentions are not to make money off these by selling them or anything. I just wanted to preserve these episodes before they are gone as a community, because I fear that if we don't do something they will be some day. In fact I’d go as far to say that it’s our responsibility to preserve them as fans to protect our past culture and heritage. If you could directly point me in the direction of a store where I could buy the “Planet of the Turtleoids” VHS new I would drop this and go right now to that store and buy it, but anywhere it’s being sold right now is resale. Probably some old guy selling his (now grown up) kids old VHS tapes. It’s out of print and from what I understand it was said that it has been lost and that’s why they can’t put it on DVD. That means that the job has been put on us now to save these episodes because they can’t. These 20 year old VHS tapes are all we’ve got and when they stop playing it’s game over.

I can’t be the only one who thinks this is important. In fact I know I’m not the only one because some have responded already and are willing to help and contribute. I didn’t come on here to argue with anyone or to make enemies I joined because I love the ninja turtles just like everyone on here and because I care about them I think at the very least people should be able to view the episodes in a decent quality…even if that means just putting them on youtube (and there are tons of turtles episodes on there.)

If it’s going to be made into a big deal then we can end the thread and the people who care about preserving these episodes can contact me through PM or email or whatever and we can collaborate together to accomplish this. Again I’m not here to make enemies but to do what I honestly think is the right thing for the turtle community to do given the situation.

Believe me, we care, but other inroads to get them on DVD have been made. The episodes aren't lost and they aren't going to fade into obscurity if one man doesn't come to the fore and save them. If you love the Turtles, then please, post in the other sections as well. Talk Turtles with us to prove your love, don't do it by making those of us who are just informing you of the rules out to be the bad guys who don't want these episodes available for a wide audience.

If i came off like i was trying to make you look bad I'm sorry, again that was not my intention. I was simply just trying to explain why i feel the way i feel. And I wasn't aware that these episodes weren't lost, my understanding was that that was why they couldn't and didn't put them on DVD. Out of curiosity why didn't they then? Also for the record I wasn't just trying to do this by myself and come off as some sort of stuck up savior. I just wanted to get the idea out there and work together with the community on here to do it, because i thought it was very important given the circumstances as i understood them. Also i do plan to post on other threads but i only joined recently and i'm in college so I really just started and focused on this because of how I understood the situation combined with how little time i've had with school the past few days. I look forward to talking turtles with you.

Although the fact remains that they still aren't out there on DVD, and from one of the previous posts it doesn't seem like lionsgate cares about the series (although it seems many people have come to that conclusion several times already on different threads). With this if anyone would still like to contact me and work together to preserve them for now with what we have until an official release exists please do. Even if we don't post them anywhere we can keep them for our own archives and people could always email me about them. As i don't mean to break any rules or get anyone into trouble just email me or PM me as mentioned before. Thanks to those who are interested and again my apologies to anyone i may have given the wrong impression to. -David
