Krang as an individual character was not mentioned at all. They have taken the original TCRI aliens from the Mirage comics (robot exoskeletons piloted by brain aliens in the stomach) and, in a nod to the original cartoon series, named the race Kraang (I think it had a double a in the middle). I also remember someone saying during the presentation that the alien brains won't talk outside of their robot exoskeletons. I certainly don't recall the pictures of the brains having mouths - just 4(?) long-ish tentacles.

During the fight sequence in the second lot of the footage shown, there was one comedy bit where Michelangelo has a Kraang alien brain stuck on his head and is trying to prize it off.

Whether the Kraang are good, bad or somewhere in-between remains to be seen I think.

Baxter Stockman may not be mutating; he was simply mentioned at the same time as Leatherhaed and mutagen, in part of a general conversation about returning characters and themes. We'll have to wait and see. Rich (the guy from Nickelodeon) was very coy with a lot of his answers - he didn't want to give too much away!

It's shocking that Nick seems to be using the Mirage characters more than OT characters like Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady. You'd think it would be the other way around.

After 4kids I was hoping to see OT characters again.

Everything sounds great. Thanks for the reports on the event guys.

Mikey being comic relief was inevitable. Should be interesting to see what all they do with him. I've traditionally referred to myself as a Donatelo fan, but getting back into the turtles this past year has made me realize I'm more of a Mikey fan. Watching the '03 series and remembering the three Mikey figures I had as a kid have certainly helped that...

April and Splinter being younger than they traditionally have been makes sense. April being the same age as the turtles will make that relationship interesting, and Splinter not being so old will be good too, imho.

The music for the show being hip-hop is something I can definitely handle. Though it wouldn't have been my first choice, lol. I look forward to hearing the new show's theme song. I know others wouldn't enjoy this, but something similar to BttS's theme would have been cool...

Again, thanks for sharing, Chris. Loved everything I read about the details for the show.

Agreed 100%.

Thank you guys for all the info write-ups! Much appreciated! Hopefully we'll have a good look at some of this in the States at least by SDCC.

Nothing that was mentioned. From my personal opinion, the way they talked about April, what sort of character she was, the design decisions already made etc. it is unlikely they are going to change all that by having her mutate in any way (it would mess with the dynamic too much, cutting out the one entry point into the series for potential younger female turtles fans.)

Not that I can remember. Baxter was only mentioned in passing in the Q+A when they were asked about other villains.

He treads on a can making some noise and the other three all turn and tell him to “sssshhh”, this was one of the more anime inspired emoticon moments, I’m not really an anime fan but it looked alright. It wouldn’t be my personal preference but I didn’t hate it and it certainly didn’t put me off the show at all. Four Foot Soldiers appear around them. Leo says something like “4 against 4, sucks to be them.” Then a load more Foot Soldiers appear and Leo backtracks a bit with “Or not!”. Next we got a great looking fight scene between the Turtles and the Foot. The staging and the movement of the camera really gave this a feel of comic panel in motion. The Kraang appeared and start shooting lasers into the mix, and there was a really nice shot of Leo slicing one of the robot bodies vertically in half. We see a damaged Kraang exo-suit on the floor and Mikey is holding a Kraang upside down going “see it’s a little squishy brain!” The Kraang wakes up and climbs up Mikey’s arm and onto his head causing him to scream as he drops to the floor. The next shot is the other Turtles stood over him with Raph saying “How come even when he’s right he manages to look stupid?” Then we cut to the NYC manhole and most of the earlier footage that was shown with the BTS video. Then we get a new shot of the Turtles in an alley saying something like they think that’s all of them beaten or what’s next, there’s a really dark menacing laugh as Shredder comes out of the shadows behind them and that’s the end of the footage before we get a full reveal of Shredder. I really hope Nick air this soon as I would love to see it again. The series really does look amazing and the crowd was loving it.
That sounds like where those stills we saw from the toy fair came from.

And I'm not too familiar with much anime, what do you mean by "anime inspired emoticon moments"?

Thanks for all the Info!!! Can not wait for this show!!

That's the Teen Titans influence.

From the look of things, this show I'd say will be about 75% 4kids and 25% OT influenced. I hope this show goes beyond the 52 episodes and most importantly, ends with a TMNT decisive victory with Shredder destroyed!

For the music, that hip-hop DNB is good as it reflects the times (rock and roll seems so last century). But I of course love the 1987 soundtrack as evidenced by my Youtube channel, and having new music just will make me appreciate nostalgia more for the earlier series (and even to a degree 2k3's). But I hope the 1987 theme makes an appearance just like the original Power Rangers theme recently has made a comeback. (Though the 2003 has grown on me).

Some other thoughts: What will be Shredder's hideout this time? Will it be a Foot HQ, a large base like the Technodrome, or something else? How much fourth-wall breaking jokes will there be?

Nick said they want the show to become as popular as Spongebob.

There's no reason it won't be a success given Nick will promote the hell out of it. I suspect it'll have a 7 season run at the least, but if we're really lucky it might be the longest lasting TMNT show of all 3.

With 26 episode seasons confirmed, by the end of Season 2 it'll already have 52 episodes. 5 seasons will get us over 130 episodes...
