The only elbow-bends are on the Turtles. It's piss-poor on Playmates' part, but hey, I'm not a toy maker, and I can't customize, so I deal with it.

I have a video rendering right now that makes it easy! I articulate Kraang. Next up is Shredder.

I don't really think Don's head screams Leo, I think Don's head screams Don, to be honest.

But great job man!

Articulating kraang didn't come out as well as I had hoped. If I had another I think I'd be able to do a much better job, but I think I just got over zealous and tried using stikfas joints that are either too loose or too tight. The good news is that it is easily done, especially since I'm an amateur. I'll post up a photo of what I did accomplish a little later.

One easy minor modification that anyone can do to add a little more range is to simply cut a notch at the top of each shoulder. This will allow the arms to raise up a bit more and away from the body.

Easy for customizers, or easy for someone who is lacking every which way in creativity, like me.

I also find it strange that nothing relating to the 2012 show comes up if you search ToysRUs.com, given the toys have already been showing up in stores all over the US. Odd.
So I take it theyre not available in stores in Canada just yet?

So I was thinking about what kind of figures we usually see. Anyone think we will see mutating 2k12 Turtles?

Why hell yes. They did it two times before, if you just count the main 'mutating' ones, not counting the mutating into vehicles... I don't want them, unless they will look good, but I'm pretty sure we'll see them.

Here's a question. Which 'wave' will contain the first variants? Wave 2 most certainly will not have them, but when will it inevitably happen?

I'm thinking if we do see any variants it wont be until next year. I'm not sure we will see as many as we have before. I mean with Nick owning the property they might be a little more firm with Playmates and what they do.

I've never been a big fan variants. I mean there have been a few I liked but over all they seem quite pointless.

Well, I don't know about the 2003 series, but I'm sure with the OT, it was all a way to make a ton of money. Think about it: a kid is roaming through a store and sees a Donatello who say, breakdances, or can mutate, or is wearing a funny hat. That kid now wants him because he looks cool. No matter how many toys they pushed out, kids ate'em up. Sure, we look at them now, and realize most were stupid, but back in the day, most kids scooped all of it up they could.

The Turtles were so popular for a few years, that they could have put out just about ANYTHING with a TMNT logo on it, and it would have been a hot seller.

Oh at the time I was one of those kids. At the time I had to have all the versions of the TMNT. I'll be passing up on the talking TMNT as I don't see any need for them.

Yeah, right now, that's all I'm passing on voluntarily. I want everything else, including a Storage Shell Donatello (which I didn't think I'd want).

I'll be passing on the storage shells too. I honestly I thought I'd only be picking up the classic line. So let me put it this way, right now I'm only going to go after the basic and classic figures.

Shredder has them too.

Honestly, the articulation isn't really an issue for me. I still love the action figures I grew up with, and all of those had, at max, five points of articulation. It's weird, but the limited articulation on some of these figures hold a bit of nostalgia for me.

The main reason I'm unsure if I want to get certain figures, is my uncertainty as to what size of a collection I want to have... I have recently decided to bring my Transformers collection down quite a bit... I'll most definitely be getting the Classic Collection figures, so I'll probably wait till after I get all four of them before deciding on which stuff from the new show's line that I want to get.

I can understand that. I thought I'd pass on most of these figures, I'm glad I didn't though. But the thing I've learned about collecting you have to be true to you.

so i found Big bad toy store online, i wrote to them, they said playmates doesn't allow them to ship outside the US!!!

so does anyone know of any good sites that has them at a reasonable rate with international shipping?

thanks for the help!
I hear you pal. To import a whole set isnt that pricey, but its the fact that you get stung on import fees. Its so frustrating having to wait for these. I really want a set of the classics, but will get a modern set also.
