I cheered when I saw the TCRI building. I wonder if April's "genius" father worked there?

Twist

Spoiler:

April's father is a kraang, she was created by that stone used by the artist that used to live in her house

That's an interesting question and concept.

It was from the Donatello Micro-series (same story)

the stone was later used in volume 4 of the comics

Spoiler:

after many failed attempts at having a child, April's father found the stone and attempted to create a baby

after many failed attempts at this (all the babies disappearing/dying) April actually was able to stay

which later they lost the stone, which the artist found later

It's from the comics. The episode was based on the Donatello one shot from Mirage vol 1. In vol 4 it was revealed that April was a creation of the stone.

The action scenes are as bad as I feared. Everytime there is contact you have that freeze frame anime effect. Looks horrid.

Yeah, there's WAY too much anime influence. Not my favorite. But the interactions between the Turtles I like. But, like the theme song, maybe all that animation will grow on me.

And what was with Mikey's eyes just turning white all the sudden while fighting? I don't get it.

Indeed it's cheap gaga for little kids. It's horrible.

The OT didn't resort to gags like this to get us interested when we were kids so why does this?

Funny, I didn't think of it as a cheap gag, just part of the style.

I find the emoticon okay, not really distracting at all

I loved the choreography in the training scene. And Splinter being tall didn't look odd at all.

The OT was horribly cheesy. It was full of cheap laughs and lame puns and they used the same lines over and over again.

I think it's ok, now some of the videos it felt over used, but in others, I think it was good.

And it was funny. Since back then anime gags didn't exist in the U.S. we had humor by witty and sarcastic dialogue.
