Obscure eps of the original toon you really like

What lesser talked about eps of the OT do you really like?

I'd have to say, "The Big Zipp attack" mainly because I love the idea of a creature who multiplies and takes over the city. Loved the way the turtles were trying to figure out why eating metal seemed to duplicate it.

I love "The Ice Creature Cometh." very funny episode where Bebop commands his own ice creature and this has some great action sequences and set pieces.

Its kinda hard for me to answer this question because I just just about all the episodes after the first and second seasons fall into the "obscure" category. Notable exceptions are the major "arcs" like "Big Break In - Big Blowout" those episodes that introduced or heavily featured beloved characters like Casey Jones and Usagi Yojimbo.

I suppose I'd have to say episodes like "The Cufflink Caper," "Shredder's Mom," "Wererats from Channel Six," "Bebop and Rocksteady Conquer the Universe," and "Leonardo Vs. Tempestra" are some of my personal favorites.

People tend to remember all the best episodes, I wouldn't call any of the ones you listed as obscure really.

I think a lot of the early/mid Season 4 eps are usually the ones either forgotten or overlooked. There are some hidden gems there.

Ah, but everyone of those episodes I mentioned happened to be from Season 4, especially the early-mid season range!

Those were some of the Season 4 gems I was talking about. It's funny because for every dull or forgettable ep from Season 4 we got a very good one. It's why Season 4 is a bit underrated sometimes, some of its eps rank up there with the best of the series.

I also love, "Raphael Knocks 'em dead" when he has to crack jokes to make people laugh when Pinky Mcfingers captures him.

I also loved the gag with Barney Stockman everytime people mistook him for Baxter. Funny how the turtles didn't even wonder why he was human again and just recognized him. Barney Stockman was a hilarious idea and a neat way to bring Baxter's human design back for another episode.

Leo and Mikey got turned younger and held hands while skipping and singing "One. Two. Buckle my shoe. etc."

I always loved "Raphael Drives Em Wild". The car chase scene at the end was one of my favorite moments in the entire series!

Is that the one where Raphael switches bodies with a cab driver? I liked that one too.

There were a few gems that I really liked but I can't seem to remember any of them right now. One I really liked was the Mr. Ogg episode but counting that people hate that episode so much I don't know if it's obscure.

I think Bebop & Rocksteady Conquer The Universe is my favorite of the entire series. I get a big kick out of Shredder & Krang in the Technodrome too scared to do anything. A few of my favorite less talked about episodes are:
The Maltese Hamster
Burne's Blues
Take Me To Your Leader
Green With Jealousy
Corporate Raiders From Dimension X
Usagi Yojimbo
Farewell Lotus Blossom
Pirate Radio
Mr. Nice Guy
Nightmare In the Lair
Dirk Savage: Mutant Hunter
I also seem to like any episode where Splinter plays a bigger part in the show than just hanging around the lair giving the turtles advice.

Yeah, Son of Return of the Fly II has a lot of memorable moments. I personaly found it to be the funniest episode of the series.

Baxter: Where is September O'Neil!

Donatello: The destruction of other peoples property, for what ever reason, is wrong. We'll take the sewers.

Later

Rocksteady: Bebop. The destruction of other peoples property, for what ever reason, is wrong.

Bebop: Yeah, I know! :Blasts door open:

Donatello: Only a ninja master could get out of these ropes!

Leonardo gets out of the ropes and cuts everyone free.

I Love "Green with Jealousy", I watch it every Valentines Day and always cracks me up!

April: "Turtles this is Sugarlips! Ohhh, I mean April!"

On St. Patricks day I always watch "The Great Boldini" with that hilarious Irish cop and at the end Michelangelo does that little Irish jig!

It's a bit vague in terms where to draw the line in terms of what constitutes and "obscure" episode. For instance Krum, I wouldn't consider Usagi Yojimbo an obscure episode since he is popular among fans and is one of the best episodes in the series in terms of quality. I also wouldn't consider an episode obscure if the title episode of a VHS consists of the name of that episode on the cover, meaning that Burger King tapes such as the Great Boldini are ruled out. Episodes that introduced a character that had an action figure such as Mutagen Man and Mondo Gecko also don't qualify to my standard. That said, I'd pick the following:

Camera Bugged- Fripp is funny and cool kind of like Sesame Street's Tweedlebugs and the cart ride in Camera Bugged is very well done. It even had a follow-up episode, Welcome Back Polarisoids.

The Ninja Sword of Nowhere- One of the most underrated episodes in the whole series. The scene of Shredder and Splinter on small islands in another dimension looks is neat, along with the battle in the Salvageyard.

The Missing Map- Despite its numerous animation errors, its one of my favorites, especially with Zach tinkering with the Technodrome's controls along with the anticipation that Shredder may finally find the Turtles' Lair.

Turtles of the Jungle- I enjoy this for the giant Donatello along with the whole city being covered with vines.

Turtlemaniac- With the popularity of Turtle collections more than ever, its a great way to learn how not to be a stalker, yet it is also funny as well.

Splinter Vanishes- A great episode that explored "What if?" if the Turtles didn't have Splinter.

The Foot Soldiers are Revolting- This is the only time in the series in which the Foot Soldiers are a real threat, even betraying Shredder.

The Sword of Yurikawa- One of the best episodes of Season 6 that is underappreciated; sort of a combination of My Brother, The Bad Guy and The Ninja Sword of Nowhere.

Too Hot to Handle- I remember being scared as a child when the thermometer kept getting higher and higher and when I saw that 110 degree sign, I thought that soon the city would burn up and it still haunts me to this day with regards to global warming, even more so than the more popular "Shredder's Mom".

Artless- I don't know why people hate this episode; its funny and its cool to see the whom Turtles see who they're named after.

Combat Land- One final moment of fluff before Shredder Triumphant starts the transition to Red Sky; having three different themes makes this fun to watch

State of Shock- Now that the public is completely against the Turtles, it represents a critical moment in the series for them

The Day the Earth Disappeared- That tornado portal really freaked me that everybody would get sucked in and never return to the Lair

Cowabunga, Shredhead - Its just funny to see Shredder acting like Mikey. It was a nice fun episode.

Leonardo vs. Tempestra - I like how Leo was given the task of taking on a villain on himself. And this Villain was pretty powerful considering that she was a game character. It was also interesting how the other turtles strugged trying to reach them.

Beyond the Donatello Nebula - Also a fun episode. Having Donny team up with the Alien Algae was awesome. I wished they had more episodes with Algae. He had so much potential. With his powers he could be a legit threat.

The Eye of Sarnoth arc - one of the only few story arc episodes. A good way to start the season with a four part story arc.

April Fool - I will be honest.... April was hot in the episode. Same can be said for her double Princess Mallery. My mom and I cracked up at Shredder and Krang's exchange in the episode. "So Sue me."

The Big Trilogy - The last three episodes of season 3. I just wished they could have ended the other seasons that way.

Raphael Meets his match - I still think Mona Lisa was a decent character. I wished she had more appearances...

There's more but i'll get to it later.

"The Big Trilogy" is not an obscure set of episodes. Neither is the Eye of Sarnoth saga. Both arcs are well known, came at the peak of the show's run, and are highly acclaimed.

Anyhoo my list

"Donatello's Degree": Pretty much THE Donatello/Irma episode which really showcases how lovablly naive Irma can be and the miscommunication and comic timing of her and Don was all to rarely utilized.

"Take Me To Your Leader": I quite liked that this didnt actually show the Turtles were hopeless without Leonardo, in fact only Raph comes out looking bad as he directly ups and quits, Donatello goes to get an invention, and Mike is bailed out of his leadership duties when Leo returns, but otherwise seemed to be doing ok. The dream sequence is also laugh-a-minute. "Let loose the vicious dogs" (cue killer poodles)

"Leonardo is Missing" was also a great episode. Seeing talking dinosaurs was odd, but it was another great scheme where Shredder/Krang almost recharged the Technodrome and has a fantastic Foot Soldier fight toward the end.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.
