New Smash Bros for 3ds and Wii U

They're not making a story mode this time, so that will obviously cut a lot of development time.

They wasted too much time on the Subspace Emmissary in Brawl. As much as I enjoyed the cutscenes the development of it clearly took a toll on the roster.

Think they might have Travis from No More Heroes in it? In a Nintendo Power article that I read, they wanted them to appear in the next Super Smash Bros. if I'm correct. I mean, Sonic and Snake appeared in the last one.

Yeah, The "people put stuff on youtube" BS excuse makes no sense, in that case no game should have FMV? The real reason is development time and the fact that fans bashed the Subspace.

I never understood what people expected from Subspace, I got exactly what I expected, did people actually think it'd have a full game that had a different engine? I expected a beat em up with the smash engine and got it. I was actually disappointed with the Melee adventure mode because I expected something bigger along the likes of the subspace. Also people bashed online on Brawl but the first 6 months I used to play all the freaking time and never had any problem playing with friends or random matches. I loved Brawl and it gave me exactly what I wanted, I think the dojo set up most people to be disappointed though. I miss it though, this miiverse picture a day thing is lame compared to the epic japan time dojo reveals which made even ****** reveals hilariously worth it for the aftermath.

No one knows who Travis is, only way he'd have any chance of appearing is if the game had actually been a hit and remained exclusive, as it stands it's a surprise it even got a sequel after the abysmal sales and the sequel sold even worse. I remembering following that game and it looked interesting but it was not polished enough and needed more marketing/audience. But now it's a forgotten niche franchise with 0 value. I'm sure they wanted Travis to be in the game as I'm sure almost every company wants their character in the game that doesn't mean they'll get to be there. Smash Bros. is a flagship title for Nintendo as big or bigger than Mario/Zelda so of course they want the exposure. Sonic was Mario's mascot rival so it made sense. Mega Man is also a gaming icon. Kojima wanted Snake in Smash and Nintendo probably added him to have a "hardcore gamer" character and the shock more than anything. For third party characters the only one that makes sense to be added is Pac-Man since he is technically the first gaming icon.

The only other third party character likely to get in is Pac-Man, they're likely saving his reveal for E3.

I do really hope Snake returns though. I wonder if they'll still have David Hayter voice him since he was extremely bitter about not being in MGSV. I suppose they can just re-use the Brawl sound clips though if they wanted.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It'd be the right time since 1) Namco is working on the game and 2) Pac-Man has a new cartoon airing.

They're all from Awakening. I was expecting to get MAYBE either Chrom or Lucinia, but to get them and ALSO the player character? That's totally out of left field.

Interesting, though! I don't play FE, so I don't know anything about these characters, but they look fun regardless.

We don't need another blue haired sword user from Fire Emblem. It looks like Lucina might be a clone of Marth. Much like the gender flipped Robin's she might be an alt female Marth on the character select.

Fire emblem getting 4 characters while we're still waiting on Ridley, King K Rool or Dixie Kong, Mewtwo or another Zelda character is absurd.

I'm all for as many characters and I accept the criticism Pokemon gets for so many representatives but Fire Emblem getting so many is just too much. Especially so many Blue haired sword representatives. Having not played the games I guess it might be an ignorant statement but you gotta take a look at it from an outsiders perspetctive, at least the Pokemon all look different, I know Awakening sold very well but still this was a franchise about to get cancelled. I can see Lucina/Chrom (even if he wasn't announced) being alternate costumes for Marth and it makes more sense similar to Male WiiFit trainer and Animal Crossing, unless in the games they all play very differently in which case forget what I said. So Robin is the player character? That makes a good representative IMO, still sad Pokemon Player didn't get to be in this new version, since that is the player character. I'm pretty sure the only reason Ike is there is because this game re-used so much from Brawl that having Ike in probably didn't cost them any extra time so they might as well. But I guess in the end I'm kind of happy for an almost cancelled franchise to get this much exposure even if I would've rather had other characters in their spots. I love Advance Wars and I know FE is somewhat similar so I should really check it out, it's just the RPG parts that turned me off from it.

King K.Rool has kind of been forgotten in the revival so I doubt he'll even get a trophy in this game which is a shame, while I never thought he was a great character he's better than the villains of the past few Donkey Kong Games. Dixie and Ridley I'd be fine with. I think Pokemon can get away with another representative besides Jigglypuff, and I'd love Mewtwo but that's just too many Gen 1 representatives sadly. As far as Zelda representatives I guess Impa could become one right? I would also like to see Pig Ganon as a representative instead of Ganondorf.

Who haven't they revealed? I think Diddy, if he gets cut I'd be sad especially since DK's own franchise finally took off again. Falco being cut would be fine, but not wolf, while too similar to fox I really think at least the original 8 need their rivals in their games.

I'm sure as hell not waiting for Ridley. People need to get over that garbage already. He's a stage boss in this one. The end.
