Um...a player to play the videos...say, windows media player, is software...but an avi file is not...anyways, what i meant is in kazaa i always click on video in the search engine, not on software...mainly because i don't want to get viruses and because i happen to like to collect divx

Yup...but there is an application now to remove the benjamin virus...and the newer kazaa blocks benjamin anyways, so you are probably safe

I know alot more about uploading to FTPs than I do about running them, but I'll try to help. If you want to run an FTP server off your computer, you'll need to download some FTP server software like GuildFTPd. To install it and set it up, read the help files or the support page. You can then create an account for people to upload to, just make sure not to give them permission to delete or modify files.
