"When appropriate"? No such thing. They should be thrown into a pit of flaming spikes.

Should the spikes be coated in burning oil or acid?

The only really big lackluster for me is when Raph was calling Shredder a monster. I was really hoping Raph was gonna somehow break the cage down and attack Shredder with his brothers.

Overall, favorite episode of the show, even beating out Vengeance is Mine.
I really, really hope they have Raphael hanging on to that anger and rage at seeing his older brother and master being beaten at the hands of Shredder, and he is the one at the end of season three or four that finally loses it and goes absolutely berserk on Shredder!

With how pissed off he was about Splinter, you think they might write in the Mirage story where he wanted to go back to NYC to go after Shredder, Leo tried to stop him and Raph threw him through a wall, knocking him out?

I think there's a very good chance we will see something like this.

Wow...Love this.

Spoiler:
Love the reference to the comics but I thought the 2003 cartoon pulled off the "Leo is down and all hell breaks loose" a little better. Glad they got rid of Irma. Never did like her character. Ditto for Kirby.

Maybe there is a real Irma and the Kraang replaced her with a robot after season 1's finale to spy on April? Maybe the real Irma is a test subject for the Kraang or something. I know this is unlikely but I really liked Irma in this series, until she turned into a backwards Utrom-Shredder thing and her head chased the turtles around the Lair.
I'm watching the 2003 series and I'm on episode 10 of season 2, so I don't know who this Bishop everyone is mentioning is, but I hope he turns up. This show is rich with awesome references to the comics and 1987, but 2003 is a major TMNT iteration as well and deserves it fair share of references. If this TMNT wants to reference other versions, it should spread them out to all TMNT, not just two versions.
I absolutely loved the Shredder/Splinter fight. It was touching to see Karai saved her father. There's still a little bit of her left, enough to recognize him.
I'm hoping Casey's sister is Angel. Just 'cuz.
My favorite part is when Mikey hugged Raphael. My runner-up would be Leonardo's fight, but I wish it got a bit more focus and that Shredder actually gave Leo the huge beat down rather than one fatal slice. Just a nitpick, though.
Overall, I'd give this a 9/10. I've seen better episodes but this is up there in the greats. Shows like Legend of Korra and TMNT are beautiful anomalies for Nick.
Bishop is a badass! He is a government agent who is a master in fighting and psychology. He's tough, smart and wicked when he fights and can go toe to toe with the Turtles and Shredder. He kind of reminds me of a sinister version of Captain America in a way.

I'd miss a tun of visual stuff if it weren't for everyone in the drome. I wonder if actual Irma is imprisoned with April's mom somewhere. They might have been keeping her around so Kraang subprime could check in on her from time to time in order to get her mannerisms down. I refuse to believe there was never an Irma until someone on board the Nick show confirms it. With my luck, they'll be like,"Oh there was, but then she met the Kraang!" Anyone else flash back to the 90's Spider-Man cartoon while watching this? You know what I'm talking about if you did.
That would be a real sweet twist. Not to mention, there was something about Irma being a potential "friend" for Mikey. I don't know where that started, but many were on board for Mikey to finally have a friend he could talk to and have fun with like his brothers have.

I think I may have maybe cause that rumor. It was off handed comment from Cipes that I took as Gospel.

I would be all for this.

Ironically Black Nerd was the one who finally piqued my interest enough to give this series a shot, and it was because he mentioned Irma. So yeah, Irma is the reason I started watching this show.

I really liked Irma.

I hate to say this, but I've liked most of the other females in this show except for April! April has her moments, but I don't like how she keeps stringing both Casey and Donnie along. Irma was cool (right now, I am hoping that she was still the regular Irma up until maybe shortly after Rats and Men) and Karai was just beginning to get interesting, and hell, even the one shot of the little girl Leo had tea with was adorable, it's a bit of a let down that the girls who are barely in the show seem to have more likable personalities than April.

There's a strong chance the real Irma is out there, hell, we already seen the same scenario played out with April, during a Kraang Conspiracy with the mulitple Aprils and the real one. Irma is probably in the same boat. (I hope)

I am curious to what's going to happen now between April, Raph and Leo, because of what happened to Splinter. Both brothers are deeply close to Splinter, Raphael probably doesn't even know about April bringing in the decoy, and when he finds out, he's probably going to flip his lid. Leo might even be worse, because he got his beat down resulting in April's mistake, and he might hold her responsible in a way.

Then, poor Raph, it was nice to see him taking his brother's side when Casey was asking all of those questions about April, what will Raph do when he sees Casey is blatantly making moves on April, maybe April is responding in kind, all in front of Donnie, Raphael might just get a bit overprotective and lash out at the two.

The episode had it's surprises (Irma, EPF), exciting fight scenes, and I was loving the 2k3 vibes, but on the other hand it was too similar to the season 1 finale- with the Kraang invasion and the "boss fight" of Splinter vs Shredder and Kirby mutated again. Also, as in the last season finale, it seemed Donnie and Mikey's roles were smaller compared to other characters and other episodes, but maybe that's me.

Raph had a good showing in this episode, some character development other than "raph has anger issues", which was nice for a change.

Unsure why Leo would go off solo to fight the Shredder instead of meeting up with his bro's during an alien invasion, but when he was sliding down that construction site's slope it reminded me of the last fight scene in Star Wars Episode III. But Leo going off solo led to a cool fight sequence, so worked out ;P

I don't think if Donnie had listened to Leo that it would have stopped the invasion- arg, I dislike when the show's writers lay him with a major guilt trip. Maybe Leo should have learned the lesson he was meant to in "metalhead rewired" and trust Donnie.

So excited for the tiny prospect of Bishop! He was the bad guy I loved to hate in 2k3. Prob won't happen in this show (as my dream of don x irma and thus a jealous april won't happen), but it's nice to hope.

The Kraang were luring Leo into the fight with the Shredder. And as the Shredder said, he was young and over confident.

Maybe that was what Donnie was going to say when he said "If I was leader..." before Leo cut Donnie off and said "Well you're not leader, I am"

Perhaps Donnie had was going to say "I would trust my followers and listen to their suggestions." Which was what Leo was not doing.

But... looking at the comments in this thread, I can't wait to see them in Northampton!

For those that don't know, Northampton is a medium sized town in western Massachusetts with a lot of wilderness around it (kinda like Dover, here). The boys are gonna have all sorts of places to wander around. There's multiple state parks and reservoirs, a lot of forested areas...
You can watch it on iTunes too.

Honestly, I would love to see that. BUT...

I would bet money that they won't do that at all.

Instead they'll disregard/ignore it and won't give Raph anything that worthwhile to do (considering how they've been using Raph so far in this series).

To be honest, the only thing good stuff that they're doing with Raphael so far is the bond that Raph & Mikey share with each other.

I actually liked this one. I hated stupid Irma sounding EXACTLY like dumbass sponge bob April's horrible VA and stupid Kirby. All 3 of them are annoying. The Leo part bored me. I was looking at my toenails like okay. He gonna fight anything except stupid footbots? Yawn. I was hoping they'd go with serious Mikey after the last episode cause his stupidity is getting old already. I don't get why everybody loves Bishop so much but! The E.P.F. The stupid humans actually doing something was a surprise EXCEPT, like everybody mentions, the whole city is deserted when the Kraang invades except for random cars. I HATE people like Irma and Donatello that try to show their stupid asshole superior intellect when somebody says something wrong, those jackasses go out of their way to make you feel stupid as hell.
