TMNT Season 2 Official Info Thread

I'm also looking forward to the Karai stuff. Hoping we get to see a good bit of Shredder venturing off on his own as well. I doubt he'll get a solo episode but I'd sure watch that. I'm thinking April and the guys will mend fences very quickly. We probably don't have anything to worry about there.

If Nick really wanted to go for originality, that'd be awesome. Maybe not a entire episode devoted to Shredder (but, why not.) but a subplot following him as he ventures out looking for new blood.

Casey/Leo interactions would be pretty nice. Although it was said Casey will develop a "relation" with each of the turtles, that's definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to.

In the 2k3 series Casey had, except for Raph, the most interaction with Leo. (In comparison with Mikey and Don) Leo went to him to fight against the Purple Dragons together and he always seemed more "protective" about Casey, especially in the later seasons.

I'm really looking forward to the Karai/Leo part as well, there's so much potential hidden within their characters. I enjoyed their interactions in season 1 and they had a lot of chemistry. (I mean in their writing and interactions)

There was a picture on DA with Karai crying in Leo's arms and his brothers watching. If/When the big reveal comes something like that "could" happen.


For me personally character interactions/character development are/is one the strongest points in this series, and that's why I guess I was a bit disappointed with the continued focus on mutants and the Kraang. I'm looking forward to see Mutagen Man in action though, I hope he'll be on the turtles' side eventually.

EDIT: And yeah, it would be awesome to have a subplot of Shredder going out to find "new blood" on his own.

I don't know if this has been brought up.

But there were a few questions as to whether the Newtralizer was hero/villain/vigilante.

Seeing as he's now included in the new intro sequence, the villains bit, alongside Spider Bitez, Karai, Shredder, Xever, Dogpound, Kraang, Snakeweed and Mrs Campbell - does that make him (and possibly Karai) an automatic enemy of turtles?

I mean the intro sequence has very definite sections, villains, heroes (including Casey at the end).

There's no seperate section for characters who are independent or only out for themselves.

And I notice Baxter Stockman doesn't feature in the intro either. Either as a human or a fly.

Theories?

Newtralizer may not be a real enemy, but it does seem he may oppose the turtles at every turn. At least for the time being.


As for Karai, another member brought it up I believe, but Karai being the only one who doesn't appear physically but only as a "reflection" might be a little hint to her character. In a way, she might want to follow/mirror her father's footsteps, but in contrast to her father still has a chance for redemption.

As for Baxter, it's possible he might only play a minor role, and the characters being showcased are the more important villains in this season.

Though I still will say that I don't consider cockroach terminator an enemy either. He walked up to Raph and whenever this would happen Raph would freak out and attack him. Never saw a defining moment for him being the badguy. And since that episode tied itself to the original terminator, they could end up making him a good guy. (This was more or less an argument I had with myself before)

On the back of many old TMNT packages, there were characters that were all told to being badguys, doesn't mean they were, like mutagen man and muckman for example.

Baxter Stockman thinks of himself as a villain, but the Turtles don't all that much. As Mikey pointed out he could name 5 bad guys who are more likely to be seen as a nemesis.

He's more like an irritation in many ways, particularly with how predictable he has become.

Still I hope Mikey does call him Baxter Stockfly at one point.

Thanks for the link. That was a very nice interview, and one that actually put most of my worries to rest. It seems that storywise the season will be split in two and will contain a lot of developments.


Great to know they're planning a lot for Karai in this season. As well as Casey interacting with the turtles and how each one of their personality changes when associating with him alone or as a team. Loved that bit how in the end it will always be about the family core.


It seems this season will have plenty to offer besides mutants and Kraang, I just wish they had shown a bit more of this side of the story as well at the Nick TMNT panel.

Yeah, hopefully it'll be a sort of B story in a few episodes. I just hope it gets more screen time than that Mandarin arc from Marvel's Iron-Man season 2 from the 90's. I'd love to see what Shredder is capable of on his own. He needs to get his hands dirtier in this series. Not that I want to see him kicking butt in every episode. Although since he's not fighting that much, it's even more epic when he does. Rather similar to the way they did things with Darth Sidious in Episode III and Clone Wars s5.

Awesome interview. Thanks for sharing. I've never read the comics, but I'm excited to see them adapt that storyline for Leo since it'll give him a bigger focus. What was his story in that one for anyone who's read the comics?

That's the one where Leo gets beaten within an inch by the foot clan, and the Turtles have to risk April, Casey, Splinter, and themselves against the Shredder and several members of the foot clan in order to get him to safety so can recover.
