Wrong. Platinum Dunes hired Nemec and Applebaum, the two who wrote the script where the Turtles were aliens.

Also, Splinter's voice is much much better. I think they tweaked it a bit. Or maybe it just sounds different because it's new.

Oh well, back to trailer talk. I wonder if the "are they aliens" dialogue in the trailer was put in by Evan Daugherty, the guy that was brought in to work on Nemec & Applebaum's original Blue Door script after the alien/mutant backlash happened.

For all of those people who were absolutely certain, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that the trailers and subsequently the movie itself would focus on April and not the turtles... is that settled now? Clearly not the case. This new trailer is awesome. I am even more excited for this movie

Well not really...one trailer out of four that focuses more on the turtles doesn't clearly prove anything.

In fact most of what was in that trailer is from scenes we've already seen. How many times do we need to see "whoa it's just a mask. See?" and while a technically okay action scene I have to wonder what's so impressive about the snowy hill scene that it also has to be a large part of every trailer.

Now with all that being said I do think this is the best of the trailers we've had.

I had no problem with the voices. But, "no, they're ninjas." That delivery is very skinimax-ish.

I'm wondering what else Don's bo-staff can do. It was nice being able to see more details on Raph's design - namely the kanji on his do-rag; as I hadn't really been able to make that out before.

Looking forward to this movie even more now. it wont surprise me if Don has a flame thrower in that staff of his, like future Don from the Archie series

That would surprise me... but would be cool.

one thing is for sure though... he is decked out in a lot of gear. We are sure to see some really interesting gadgets.

So it's purely coincidental that Bay said the turtles were from an alien race and a draft of the script which was dated after he was involved had them as aliens?

(Just like it's also a coincidence that a lot of the new movie takes stuff from the Blue Door script)

It's not like anyone else is denying it. After the initial furor Leibesman gave many interviews but he danced around the subject instead and making the point there was already an alien aspect to their origin (with the implication being it wouldn't be a big change to make them aliens) and even trotted out Kevin Eastman to make a bizarre claim the turtles were aliens in the comics.

The cool part was much later after Bay claimed that the turtles were not aliens and were never were Leibesman did an interview and was aware that Bay had made a statement but didn't know what he'd said and was seemingly wary of contradicting anything. It was kinda funny to read him verbally squirm.

Whether you end up loving or loathing this movie let's not deny it's origin.

Also I do believe they purposefully put in the trailer to trivialize the who controversy and sell the idea and weren't we all silly jumping the gun thinking they were.
