Most here are talking about the lameness of the past three episodes and how April has become deus ex machina in human form. It's not like people are complaining about Raph's sai handles being the wrong shade of red.

I feel the same way. I do feel that some people are overly critical, especially those who nitpick over stuff they should know won't change by now, like romance stuff. It's annoying to see people complain over it, especially since, in my opinion, it's easy to ignore since it's never the main focus of the episodes.

Just wanna have nice chats with people who enjoy the same adorkable Turtles, is that so wrong...
![]() I feel for people when something seems to be a big letdown for them. Partly I wonder if the movie debating got everyone into that mode, or if it was already this way before I ventured into online-fan territory. |

The show can't please everyone. People say now that Raph gets no attention but then if he suddenly gets a lot of great episodes, people will say the show is paying him too much attention! TMNT fans are never happy. Sure, the show has its problems, but I still find that overall it is still amazing. Picking out every negative thing has no benefit to the show - I don't think the show writers check this site regularly for what the demographic they aren't even targeting has to say about the show. All the complaining only taints the memory of the episode (I only absolutely hate the episodes Pizza Face and Chinatown Ghost Story but it seems it's a rarity here for people to like an episode lately, mainly because they point out all the bad and ignore the good). I've actually considered leaving the site before because it's just so negative. Other TMNT sites are a lot more positive about the show. I guess I'm just an outlier, because this exact thing happened to me with the 2014 movie. I feel like I'm the only one in the world who loved it.

I like the show as a whole most of the time but the Donatello relationship stuff has been so poorly handled and lame. It's made me dislike the Donatello character in recent episodes which is a shame since I liked him a lot in season one. I just get bored because practically anything that comes out of his mouth is April related and it's like "Is that all?" But I guess I'm 'nitpicking' now.

The sad thing is I've seen people for real, the real world act 10 times dumber in a relationship or anything in general than anything I've ever seen in this show. Every day, you look in the paper and the dumbest thing you've ever seen is one upped the next day by something more asinine.
Perhaps is why I don't get where people get this stuff as poorly written. Hell, from what I've seen people do it's more properly written than poorly written, because you witness stupid crap done every day. There's almost no such thing as "poorly written" anymore for you can turn around see something you thought was absolutely unheard of, and boom...there it is before your eyes. |

I guess when this show is on the same network as Avatar, people expect more from it. That was a show that was (and still is) incredibly well-thought out and told. I suppose, deep down, we want this to be on the same level. Hey, the old show(s) had just as many flaws as this one, if not more. Let's just focus on how Turtles makes us FEEL instead of what we should or shouldn't be seeing, ok?

As a lurker who's finally popped up on this forum, I agree that it tends to lean on the negative side here lately. That said, I can't begrudge people not liking what they don't like and getting the chance to express that just as freely as those who do like it. Someone earlier posted that they liked the episode and has been all but ignored while the thread has opted to once again debate differences in taste. Just sayin' ![]() ...ugh, hi, I'm new and I apparently butt in on conversations. /back to the sewer to lurk

He's never had any interaction with anyone other than his brothers and Splinter. Season 1 he came across as extremely awkward. To me, it's like a child who's been homeschooled all his/her life, and didn't have much interaction with those outside of that environment and then learning how to when finally out in the "real world", like a friend of mind. This is how I view Donnie. Also, it's still natural to try to get the attention of the person you like by trying to impress him/her or trying to get to know him/her, which is also realistic, which Donnie is doing. It's almost instinctive, isn't it? For me, though, the only time I was semi-bothered by this was in the Ho Chan ep because both Donnie and Casey came across as extremely out of character to me in the beginning and when fighting against the Purple Dragons in the museum, because we'd seen both fighting enemies together with April around before and how it didn't jeopardize the mission or task over it. So that 's why I feel people are a bit nitpicky with the romance stuff. Not like you can really do anything about it until either April tells both to back off, admits to liking one of them, or have something happen at the end of the series, but until then, why complain over a romance subplot anyway? I guess, for me, actual plot points that actually affect the overall story is more important to be critical of, like this recent ep with April's mother raising more questions than answers. The fact that the Kraang have been messing with the O'Neil family for years makes season 1's pursuit of Kirby and other scientists pointless, right? |

The recent episodes have made me FEEL bored and annoyed. Am I not allowed to say anything about it on this discussion forum? Jesus Christ. I didn't even hate the episode at all! This whole 'Don't ruin the fluffy puppies and butterflies fantasy world with your opinions' business is bugging me though.

Disregard my opinion. It's sh*t. I read some of the other stuff in the thread. I really read into it and watched the episode over. When you pay attention, the problems really do come out.

It's still out there, but very rarely can we as a viewer watch something and go "No one would ever do that! That's beyond stupid!" Turn around, you'll end up seeing it. |
