But something similar with completely different aspects isn't fan service though. That's fans wanting something and the show giving them something else.

For Turtles, that would be like fans wanting Donnie/April and the show giving them Raph/Irma because it's similar to what fans want.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Mako looked like a Zuko wannabe though, what a disaster. The hate over Mako got after both season finals freakin funny, can you imagine if that happened in this series? Donnie or Casey getting that much hate if the writers couldn't handle it right

Bebop's design might take some getting used to, but Rocksteady has already won me over.

Liking Rocksteady, might have to warm up to Bebop.

Bebop and Rocksteady, awesome! Not my favorite characters from TMNT...but still cool to see nonetheless, and very iconic! Thanks for sharing, dude...I'll put them in this post for you guys' convenience...

Bebop

Quote:
Bebop was originally a kind of punk, mohawk-sporting, human thug employed—and mutated—by Shredder. Like his best buddy, Rocksteady, he appeared in the 1980s TMNT show. During a fracas with the Turtles, Shredder turned these gang members into mutant creatures. Bebop became a warthog, still wearing his purple Mohawk and punk gear. Although larger and stronger, both Bebop and Rocksteady still lacked intelligence and failed to defeat the Turtles in any battle. Their incompetence and goofy behavior overshadowed any advantage they gained from their physical transformation.

Bebop and Rocksteady are names that were taken from music genres. Bebop is a style of jazz while Rocksteady is a Jamaican style of music originating from the late 1960s.

Are those official descriptions from playmates? It's hard to figure if that's their origins or they're referring to the 80's ones.

I found them on the Playmates site next to the new pics, so yeah, they're official. And now that you mention it, it is kinda hard to tell which series they're referring to...

They mention Rocksteady is blonde but no mention if Bebop is black.

Oh my gosh, who cares!

Seriously, how many times are you going to keep complaining about this? Just wait till the episode airs!

If you grew up in the 80's you'd understand why Bebop being black is important as it's who he is.

Oh gimme a break.

This has nothing to do about his race. It's about you continuously complaining about something you don't even know is gonna happen and jumping to ridiculous conclusions with no proof to back it up.

Seriously, why don't you just wait till we actually see him as human, then you can complain if they make him white.

And that comment about how "Bebop being black is important as it's who he is" is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, because they guy was a freaking mutated warthog the majority of the time.

By that logic should Baxter not also be black despite turning into a fly in this series too? Yes Baxter was whitewashed in the original toon but that was because they feared Shredder bossy around a wimpy black scientist would be racist back then.

What are you talking about? All I've been saying is that you need to stop continuously complaining about how you hope they don't change Bebop's race, because you have no evidence that is even going to happen in this series. Not to mention it's just plain annoying.

Seriously. Just wait till the episode airs, then you can complain as much as you want if that actually happens to him (Which I doubt).

To be fair, there is nothing wrong with diversity, and the show have been pretty okay with that so far.

*Cough* Anyway...skimming through some of the new bios, it looks like Slash still fights the Kraang, so that's probably why Newtie's decided to team up with him. It's a lot easier to collect tentacle trophies with two sets of giant claws pulling them off. Raph and Casey probably just run into them while on a Kraang-stomping mission. Also, Newtie can't speak, so I'm guessing Slash'll interpret for him. That should be amusing.

Yeah, I know. I'm just tired of Cubed posting over and over again "I hope Bebop isn't white" when there's no evidence that will even happen.

Actually Newtralizer is going to be voiced by Danny Trejo, so he will have a speaking role.

That's funny. Bio says that he's incapable of speech. I'm guessing either he'll voice his hiss/grunts or he's going to eventually gain the ability.

90% of people don't remember what either of them look pre-mutation. And based on your other posts, I'm pretty convinced that you've never even met a black person so I don't know why it matters to you.

Maybe he'll be black. Maybe he'll be Chinese. You are literally the only person who gives a f**k.
