Well, looks like this Shredder is possibly some sort of immortal. Since we know the Sword of Tengu is 11th Century. And he speaks as if he himself overthru villages and concured Japan. But holy crap, they actually had the decapitaion from from the comics. I never saw them actually doing that. I was like....holy s**t they actually killed him. But then he got up and picked his head up and walked off with it under his arm. It was like, bwah!?

Very awesome episode. It was non-stop action!! I thought the same thing too, when shredder was decapitated. Best episode so far.

Sholy hit, that was amazing! Cutting his head off was completely unexpected! So he just gets back up and carries it off!

What if shredder is really a Utom? And Saki is really a robot body?

Just a thought

HOLY CRAP! that was an awesome ep!

the final showdown was awesome. they just sat there, shredder with leo's swords and leo with the sword of tengu. then they attacked in mid-air and shredder gets beheaded

pretty interesting how splinter disappeared. but the bigger questions surround shredder. i mean, what is up with him?

Whoa, that was WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome episode nonetheless, best of the Return to New York for sure....

I've got a theory about the Shredder... he ain't just Oroku Saki, when Saki dons his Shredder outfit he manifests the shredders before him... Hes just the guy chosen to be the Shredder, which would explain why he remembers destroying Castles and conquering Japan...

Why he's alive after losing his head? I have no freckin' clue.

Okay, I just saw the episode for today. HOW IN THE HECK CAN SHREDDER WALK WITH HIS HEAD IN HIS HANDS??? Leo shoulda had that win, so that the comics could come up with a new foe... like Servanti Romero from the early issues of Mirage comics. That woulda been nice. And then they could introduce us all to Renet. But that's just me! Having Shredder still walk the horizon is a good thing, seeing he is my favorite villain of all-time.

That was abso-smeggin-lutly beautiful! I'm so glad i got the morning off from work! cannot wait for Search for Splinter.... so much kickass action, story line...can't think straight... So Matrix-y and dramatic....Shredder spouting hints to his past... I sense backstory!
I give the entire RtNY trilogy a total of 10 Foxy-smilieys!

ok people, can you please help me out???? Ive never read the comics and this show is based on the comics. When shredder picked up his head and walked away, was that in the comics or did they just decide to do this??? Doesnt shredder die in the comics(the return to new york part), and does he get decapitated in the comics to. Did this episode stick to the comics or are they going a different way. This is just confusing, please help.

Well, if he's so familar with the Sword of Tengu, and Laird said on the DVD that we'd learn the origins of the sword in Season 2, then it must tie into Shredder's origin. Which means Shredder's possibly been around since the 11th Century.
