My main concern was that they would open too easily, so if that's not the case I'm better sold on them now than I was before. Thanks!

For that matter, how about Shredder 2's helmet, for those who have him? Is it loose at all?

Battle Shells, no worries over them opening easily, or on their own.

The Shredder 2 helmet slips on ok and is a good fit.

Haha! I like how my photos decide for themselves which orientation they take!!

Managed to find Battle Shell Leo but the other 3 weren't in the store. I love how cartoon accurate he is!

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised how well Shredder 2's helmet fits. It's snug, fits well. If you ever had the 2k3 Armorized Shredder with the removable helmet, I would compare it to that one as far as snugness (maybe just a bit less snug than 2k3) and not feeling like it will rub off the paint through continued use. But you couldn't pick him up by the helmet.

I have all 4 opened, 3 of the shells work perfect, but on my Don, the shell will close and stay shut but it won't latch properly so you can open it a lot easier.

I have the same latching problem with my 11" Battle Shell Leo.

I'm might be able to fix it if I took the time to unscrew the shell and reset it. I think the problem is it's just attached like 1mm or so off. *shrug*

On the 11" turtles you can inspect them in store and probably tell if the shell is perfect or not. But on the basic figures it would be extremely hard to tell until you open it and try shutting the shell.

Still waiting for my SDCC 2013 Shredder in the mail.
Will look awesome with the turtles with that shiny armour.
There's bound to be so many variants of all the figures, particularly the turtles and some others like the shredder. The stealth tech variants have been a left field addition. I guess they get ideas and pick whatever they think will sell best make it. The ooze flingers are a bit odd too. Gotta say I laughed when I saw the commercial for them flinging that ooze, it looked so sus, lol. I can imagine children flinging that stuff at their brothers and sisters. Parents must laugh at it all.

Could someone post the UPC numbers for the 4" Battle Shell figures? All I have is Raph and I wanted to double check on the numbers for the other three.

I;ve been hearing some stories about the turtle tots being shoddily made and breaking inside the packages. What should I look for when I see them to know that the ones I buy are not going to break?

I actually eBayed my Raph & Mike set and when I got them, there was trouble all around: There was substantial amounts of dried glue spilled on Raph's head and Mike's shell came apart at the seam as soon as I twisted his waist. I WAS able to fix both figures (Raph got a little bit of Brasso on the affected portions, getting rid of the glue but adding a slight shine. Mike was glued back together with a bead of Super Glue).

Raph's defect would've been visible before opening the package if I wasn't so excited to rip them open before examining him. Sadly, there was NO indication that Mikey was gonna fall apart. I'd say keep an eye out for dried glue at the seams (unless buying online is your only option...but here in Los Angeles, I've been seeing more and more Ninjas-in-Training on the racks).

I will admit that even after all the work I put into fixing the figures, I ended up exchanging them after I found another set at Walmart :p

I've managed to get a full set of battle shell turtles from good old ebay! We've not even got classics Bebop or Rocksteady over here in the UK and I wanted the BS Turtles for a Christmas present so thought it would be easier to get them imported!

I'm super excited for their arrival!

They're probably just tight. All of them have ball jointed heads.

I heard some people complaining about that too, so it's not just you.

You're right. Bout checking, actually both Battle Shell Mikeys that were there had the bulge. It's pretty big, guessing it's actually just part of the sculpt. On the heads, upon closer inspection it's ball jointed but the way the heads are designed only Leo can fully use it.
