Slash beat-up the Turtles as badly as Shredder did in his first fight. The Turtles battling the Kraang now are no different than the Season 1 Kraang episode. The terrible mutants in Season 1 like Spiderbitez and the Cockroach aren't any better than the Season 2 mutants.
More filler episodes. More episodes where characters act overtly goofy to the extent it feels forced and unnatural to make it feel less 'serious.' And I'm not talking about some lighthearted moments, I mean goofy. Even the bad guys. That kind of 'taming.'

That's not taming. This season had more violence, gross out shock-humor, & horror influences than the first one. Double the amount of ass shots too. Yes, the jokes are more immature, but that means nothing in the context of lightening it up. Hell, if anything it's doing the opposite, as it shows the turtles can deal with all of those things & not really be effected by it, which would be creepy & intimidating in real life.

I wasn't going to mention that, but what is with that lately? April's ass has been in the camera way too much lately for it to be accidental. Its starting to get disturbing.

I'm getting the same feeling. It seems they (could be wrong though) tried to give a different impression of what the episode could really be about.

There's certainly a chance Leo is dreaming about how things would be if Karai was saved and part of their family. Until he wakes up and realizes she's still out there. We just have to wait and see how this episode will turn out.

In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

You know, speaking of Slash....I'm surprised Mikey wasn't hurt worse than what he was. When he beat up Mikey in front of Raph, seems his "shell would've been loosened" from that worse than what Tiger Claw did to him.

The show likes the use Mikey as the little brother in distress....so they can give the boys a reason to fight(when he gets in trouble) or runaway(when he gets hurt)

they used Mikey in Tiger Claws just so the boys can retreat back home...it happened New Girl in Town and Slash and Destroy and even a little in Wormquake. (and those are just when he gets hurt...he's been in "trouble" a lot more)

:T So yea....it was just a ploy to get the boys to go back home again(didn't matter how much he gets hurt as long as he's hurt)....they should have made it seem like he was beat up more though.

Can we please retire the term, "soccer mom"? It's ludicrously nondescript for what people use it for, and almost could mean the opposite.

Do I think the show has gotten lighter in tone this season? I would say that's an almost quantifiably impossible question to answer, because the theme and feel of episodes has kept shifting in both seasons. It's also hard because what "dark" means is ambiguous. The MOTW episodes seem to be going for Courage the Cowardly Dog territory; maybe scary to some kids, but I have a feeling they understand, by this time, that there's no real high stakes here, and that this fluke will be resolved by the end of the episode. By contrast, the bits with Karai aren't necessarily scary, but they do leave viewers more worried because they end on a cliffhanger.

The scariest stuff this show has done has been the Rat King episodes.

The shows not really more tame just a bit more juvenile . Theres fart noises and potty humor like the but cannons , sir malichis fart egg bombs , ect . . The shows humor has gone down hill . Theres still humor it's just not as funny as seaskn 1's humor . As it was alot more clever, like when Donnie thought Mikey was sad about Leo storming off but he was sad the pizza guy was kidnapped . While there are funny moments like this in season 2 there are not as frequent .

I think the humor has gotten better. I didn't think that pizza guy part was all that funny and just kinda random. I like the humor more now as it's less random and fits in the story a little better.

Really ? How was season 1s humor at all random it's mostly through character interaction . And how does more juvenile humor fit the story better ?

In Season One, it just felt like Mikey had more random lines meant to be funny.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Season One and it's humor as well. You and I just interpret humor differently and enjoy it on different levels, nothing wrong with that.

Seriously, Mikey is far more random in season 2 than 1. That's not a matter of interpretation, you're straight up wrong, Kolaida.
