Now that I think about it, there were OTHER clues that I don't even think the writers picked up on.

In season 1, during (I think) "Cockroach Terminator" or "Karai's Vendetta", we heard two Kraang talking about doing a gluten-free diet.

In "Of Rats and Men," Irma is complaining how the pizza wasn't Gluten-free.

In conclusion: Kraang are gluten intolerant.

Ah, good ear. Guess the writers were dropping clues and foreshadowing along the way then.

Ho Chan actually said something, too. He talked about April's abilities, and said that he sensed abilities in Irma that he didn't yet understand. That was the first red flag, for me, but I didn't guess this.

Wow, Bitsy, that's an awesome catch. Wish I could have thought about that. I love how the show does foreshadowing and yet we don't catch it until later!

As for that pic, some of that looks like fur to me, though some could be blood.

I actually caught that too. I didn't say anything about it, but it's nice to know I wasn't the only that thought of that.

My wife caught that last one too. They knew how to pepper some subtle hints in there and still manage to blindside us with the reveal. Just really well done.

I just can't stop thinking about the endless possibilities for season 3. Since season 2 went out with such an amazing BANG! I'm really looking forward to the time spent in North Hampton and hopefully getting at LEAST a whole episode on the healing process. Leo is gonna be pretty messed up...

I've also been thinking alot about Splinter. In the 1990s, the turtles knew that Splinter was missing before leaving New York. In 2003 Splinter actually went with the turtles to North Hampton. It's a whole new twist for Raph, Mikey, Don and April to know what happened to Splinter but Leo is completely out of the loop. I'm scared but excited to see how he reacts to the news...

There's a strong chance he might snap and blame everything on April. And maybe even Donnie, too, since it was he who insisted on saving April from the get go and striking up the friendship with her.

I agree there's a chance but if EVERYTHING that happened boils down to blaming April I'd be pretty bummed. Not everything that happened was her fault. The Irma thing was almost a technicality. I'd like to think the upcoming emotions and character developement will focus on the turtles and their family bonds.

Actually no one of the Kraang in Cockroach Terminator said he was trying a gluten free diet and had lost 13 units of weight because of it. And it was more of a throw away line of Kraang chatter.

I think Irma complaining about tasting Gluten is a reference to OT. Because there are moments where it was stated that OT was on a diet, but she had trouble sticking with it. Such as "Attack of the 50 foot Irma" for example.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

I thought the claim was bogus since he himself came across as incompetent. I figured he said that because she was brought along with April too and assumed she had powers...but this was also paying homage to that Big Trouble in Little China movie and Irma's eyes were green, and those who know the film pointed out that the ghost needed a woman with green eyes to restore him to a solid form. I figured that was the joke.

Personally, I feel that when Irma started asking about April's secret friends is when she was possibly a Kraangbot, so sometime after the second Rat King ep.

I would love to think Irma is real and safe, somewhere, and Gilbert Gottfried was only impersonating her for a week, but I guess the hints go too far back...

Personally, I feel hints show that she was possibly replaced, and the strongest hint towards this is the phone call in the Mousers ep.

The Kraang were kidnapping scientists in general. They didn't know that April was the one they needed until after she sent in her DNA for her Biology class. April was friends with Irma prior to this, if the Mousers ep is any indication.

If Irma was made for the sole purpose of spying on April, seems their friendship would've been established after the first TCRI ep, not before it.

I still have this feeling Irma was switched sometime after the second Rat King ep since after that point she started asking about April's secret friends. Also, if the Kraang can do that, why not kidnap April, replace her, and perfect their mutagen sooner? They could've easily lured her with Irma.

This. It makes way more sense for the real Irma to have been there up until, at the most, Mazes and Mutants. Most likely, I would say around Plan 10, since it was involving Kraang actually swapping minds with famous people to infilterate. That plan was spoiled, so instead of swapping minds, just make robots that looked like famous people with highly trained spies operating them. I think this is a technology they just started to develop, or they would have used it for a bigger advantage a long time ago. Same with the cops, they were impersonating real cops. They probably know about Casey Jones due to the school records, since they already had Ms Cambell there.

At first I thought what Ho said about Irma was just about her Power to be super annoying
I was like WTF when she transformed to this Kraang-spy.

Agreed! Killer explanation. The possibility of Kraang coming up with the idea of just making human look-a-like suits its high. They have the technology and the TIME to do it. Remember their time works differently then ours so an operation like this, that would probably take years to develop in Dimension X, would maybe only take a few months in our time.

Yep, I like that explanation too and feel it definitely fits. People often underestimate the Kraang, but you can tell they are crafty little aliens who know what they're doing.
