Actually Donatellofan, I have noticed that loose scratch with no weapons has been selling cheaper and cheaper. While complete and MOC ones have been going up a bit.

Here some examples. Notice how jailbird is worth 100 dollars himself

Someone really needs to explain the appeal of Scratch to me, but I almost feel like that should be its own thread.

I wish we could give reputation points, because Wes, you would get one for that post. I'll never understand it either. Unless I was a collector who had to have every TMNT toy, I wouldn't care about it.

But, since so many on here care about it, I thought I would list it here.

My thoughts exactly. For how much he shows up, he really should be a lot lower. I would say it's a bad 'investment' if anyone's buying it for that.

Some recent eBay values:

Toon Irma loose: $8.50
Manhattan Project NES Very Good: $3.75 + $3.25 shippinh
Turtles in Time SNES, Acceptable (means you have to blow on it sometimes for it to work): $19.50 + $2.95 shippig
Scratch Criminal Cake Gun: accessory: $40
1988 Shredder MOC unpunched: $46 + $8.05 shippinh
TMNT Vol. 1 #8 CGC 9.8: $49 + $10 shipping (that's ridiculous for a single comic)
Turtle Blimp complete + loose: $99 + $14 shipping
Sewer Playset MISB: $460.53 + $16 shipping
TMNT Vol. 1 #1 First Print CGC 8.0: $1,635 + $6.95 shipping

A MOC Scratch just ended with a $501 bid, very close to the $504.99 a couple weeks back, but given this did not have free shipping, the total cost was a buck or two higher.

Finally, that Channel 6 MISB van just sold for $280.50, about $125 less than the declined offer.

Mirage auction for #9 with COA. I'm curious to see how high the bidding will go...I've seen the collected books that you can buy directly from Mirage's site go for really high amounts when they auction them on Ebay instead.

Speaking of Scratch, here's a couple of things. First is a guy who's selling Scratch, and judging by the picture, he has plenty...

And this auction? I don't even know what to say. It's supposedly a prototype Scratch.

It is. That is the wax sculpt for Scratch. It's been on ebay for quite a few years now. Him and Radio Boy.

Not really. It was never produced. So it isn't even technically a ninja turtle. I'd sooner go for the Scratch wax sculpt. But I already own a Scratch prototype so I'm not in a big hurry. Plus the seller is a tremendous douche.

Besides...I've been kind of over the toy arm of the hobby for a while. I'm much more into original art, movie props, etc these days. If Radio Boy were my grail, rest assured I would have purchased him years ago.

Hahahah! The seller seems like it with those prices. Fair enough one of a kind prototypes but not alot of people have 6k for them, i just don't think its justified to that amount of money.

Well, it's simply not justified. Most Star Wars prototypes don't even trade for half that amount. He is simply delusional. There are plenty of TMNT items worth 5k+. That is not one of them.

Do these regularly go for amounts like that, or is it the signed COA and possibility of getting Laird to sign it that these people are bidding on? o_O

I see these issues going for as low as $15 then the next week some will go past $80. I really don't get it.

The high bidder of #9 and formerly #5 (now at $61) is the same bidder that outbid me for a copy of #2 (first print). I think he bid $150 for that one before being outbid by somebody else. I've been tracking Mirage's Ebay auctions for a while now and have seen it go for half that price.

It's crazy how the prices of the same comics fluctuate. I'm actually hoping to get the #1/Fourth Print from them. I've seen all the prices lately for that, and know my limit, so hopefully I'll win it.
