^Wow... I know I disappear for long periods of time, but I'd hoped my reputation for honesty and legendary cheapness would endure in my absence. What exactly am I supposed to be proving here?

Also, to stay kinda relevant to the thread topic...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300673559159

Here's another item I don't quite get the appeal of. I mean, yeah, it's rare and all... but it would be spectacularly easy not only to paint your own black Super Shredder if you wanted that for the shelf, but to paint it in such a way that it looks a whole lot better than that. (Drybrushing ftw, baby.) And if you didn't want to try your hand at it, any customizer would probably paint the figure for you for less than $50. (I would, anyway. )

Nothing if you won't provide your eBay user ID...

As a reminder, you said...

And to that I say...post your eBay user ID...one that you didn't just create today...and prove to us all that you're not one of the BUYERS or SELLERS that you claim are "what's wrong with the collecting hobby"...

I am both a collector AND a seller and I take great offense at your comment. I BUY and SELL collectibles and, sometimes, they go for very large sums of money...so, why is that "nearly everything that is wrong with the collecting hobby?"

100% agree. We all know that collecting isn't cheap. With rare and highly sought after items comes a hefty price. A person can't expect to make $100 monthly payments on a brand new Cadillac just because they want it.

I have spent my fair share on rare TMNT stuff. Volume 1#1 first print, April no stripe, Neca Turtles in the clamshell packaging.

I do notice alot of tmnt items listed on ebay are highly overpriced listing and continue to be relisted. The seller has every right to ask what they feel an item is worth. It's up to you as a consumer if you want to buy into it. I have paid more for certain items because I would rather have the item than to wait around for it to spring up again.

Speaking of the Chef Boyardee Super Shredder, I wouldn't buy one out of it's packaging, but I was trying to buy one a couple weeks ago. The highest I would go was $35 total, so I didn't get it.

Sure, someone could just paint a Super Shredder black, but it wouldn't be the same.

wesg0thic. I don't sell on eBay, and I can't remember the last auction I won that went for more than $10. (I use eBay in spurts, usually to accumulate custom fodder during bouts of inspiration.) I'm reasonably certain that I've never paid more than that for a single figure on eBay -- and definitely not more than $20 -- with the exception of the Turtle Saint all the way from Japan. I think I paid $40 shipped for that.

Do I get a prize now?

Again, not me. I routinely see figures in stores that I know fetch higher than retail prices on eBay, but unless I want them (and assuming the retail price isn't more than the toy is worth to me) or I know someone who does, I leave them there for the people who actually do want them. If I have to violate my principles to make a buck, I don't want that buck.

See, I tend to think it'd be better -- especially if one did it up real nice. I mean, Playmates might make an awesome retro classic Shredder, and heck they could even do a pink recolor of it... but it'll never be as great to me as my Cyber Shredder custom. Like so many views in this thread, though, that could just be me.

Every single one of you that balk at this turtle being so expensive would find no problem selling a toy you received as a freebie if it was something you had no interest in and saw that you could profit significantly from it. You're only saying you hate it because it's something you want and there wasn't a Buy It Now price on it for you to grab it for cheap...now it's going for more than you can afford but there are a lot of things we all want but can't afford...that's life. Why not be patient and wait out the hype market or just pay more for it and be done with it? eBay is a free-market system...things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them at the time that they sell and popularity drives prices up (not the seller) so why try to make it sound like these people are criminals? They list it and it sells for a lot of money...where's the problem with this? The world is not fair and no one owes you this figure for what you can afford to pay.
.
i will have to back you up on this one... i list most of my items at very low prices and let the ebay system do its work by allowing the interested buyers decide what it is worth at that very moment... i would love to have a huge collection... but it just isnt in the cards... doesnt mean there is someone to blame, just enjoy what you have and hope to eventually score an awesome deal

I THINK I'm going to disagree. They might drop a little, to where they might sell for around $200 and no more, but like I said, I think they will be a hot commodity for collectors. I mean, how many were produced? 300 each? A limited supply of TMNT merchandise will always be soughtafter from TMNT collectors. So I don't think the price will drop TOO much.
Eh. I've just seen it happen all the time with collectibles.

Im selling my TMNT Action Figure Collection. Everything is being posted on eBay. I have got through about 3/5's of it and plan to list the remaining tonight and tomorrow. There should be about 75 +/- auctions total and I will combine all shipping costs at a very reasonable rate, especially with the more I can group together.

The first auction ends tomorrow night. Here is the item number of the first auction: [...]. Its titled [...]. My eBay user id is [...]. Please take a look and good luck if bidding.

Thanks

[Mod Edit: Auction details removed.]

Not looking to tell you how to do your job but if anything you should delete his post that gives his user/auction ID. Even if he's banned he still got his publicity.

Shouldn't this be labeled 3rd printing ? I'm certain the 2nd print of the IDW #1 had a red title. does cgc fail again ?
