My personal favorite is Eastman, Laird is really good too. I do like Lawssons style, he can really draw the turtles, but he should practise on humans.

And if the new comic wont be kiddiefied, it might be pretty good. But why not just re-print the original ones? Even if it's diffrent, I might like it. I currently read both, Amazing Spider-man and Ultimate-spiderman. Sounds to me the new TMNT could be something like that.

Ultimate Spider-man took the concept and brought it to present Day. It also changed few things like Green Goblin's origin.

If the new comic book would be somethin like that, it could be intresting.

yeah.

it would be interesting if they did something like an "Ultimate TMNT" like that..... give them slighly different costumes and more 'modern' weapons.... maybe tweak the origin story a bit. You know, so it will be the same but different.....

They should have Mike use something like a kusarifundo (three foot chain weapon with small weights on both ends) instead of nunchaku. Raph should maybe use combat knives instead, as well.

The Black& white mirage style has grown on me, But TMNT works with color too. Either way is fine with me.

i think it's because the Mirage style typically is darker and 'grittier' in nature. if you are mostly familiar with 'superhero' style art in comics, it wont necessarily appeal to you. its like someone who only listens to sugar ray starts listening to the deftones. the art style in tmnt is meant to convey a theme and feelings more than anything else. the use of shadow in the original tmnt series is excellent.

But didn't the Next Mutant try something like that already (give them new looks and tricked out weapons)?

ahem

no. it give them idiotic looking costumes and stupid weapons. putting two sai/jutte together is not a 'modern weapon' nor is a tonfa more 'updated' than a nunchaku/kusari-fundo.

Costume-wise, i was thinking more something that reflected their personality. More like fashion styles than 'costumes'. Possibly what Eastman and Laird proposed in the fourth movie. It would be better to have the turtles wear regular clothes most of the time. That would be more 'ninja' like.

Weapon-wise, i think Mike for example should have a kusari-fundo over a nunchaku. It is a more concealable, deadlier, and diverse weapon. Not to mention a nunchaku is illegal to carry in most states. Not to mention a kusari-fundo is actually a ninja weapon and the nunchaku was not.

Same with Raph's sai. The sai (three pronged) was not a ninja weapon but the jutte (two pronged heavier version) was. The point of the jutte, however, was to counter swords a common weapon of the times. People don't run around with swords anymore.... so another weapon (such as knuckle claws via Wolverine, or dual combat knives) would be better.

I hope they wouldn't stuck up using same weapons all the time. I mean they are probably trained to use more than their favorite weapons.

Mike shot some apples off don's head with a japanese longbow in one of the early tmnt issues. good aim.

and in their early years, it shows mike using a manriki-gusari/kusari-fundo, and raph using some tonfa. they can all use japanese staffs and swords too.
