You miss my point. I don't doubt that there will be kids who both can and, adversely, can't handle it. It's the PARENT that sees their kid watching it that will cause trouble.

I get your point. Parents really uderestimate their children. They think seeing something violent or scary on tv will turn their children into murderers and rapists.

I've been watching violent material since I was 5 and I turned out okay.

You know, I really can't be too angry at anyone here. Despite being reportedly more strict that their predecessors, the new S&P people don't seem like unreasonable people, given the fact that the rest of the season (particularlyTale of Master Yoshi and Outbreak) managed to pass unschathed. I'm willing to trust that their reasons for being "horrified" are not entirely unfounded. Right now, I'm with ThemanthatwouldbeRaphael in thinking that this is kind of cool.

Of course, the question now is, what could "Insane" contain that would horrify them. Given "Tale", Outbreak, and the Leatherhead torture scenes in Good Genes pt. 1, I don't think violence is the issue.

I've already explained what's in it dude, Stockman goes completely insane and will stop at nothing to kill April. His new body begins rapidly decomposing and falling apart, he performs tests on his own body that show him mutilating himself, his skin rots, limbs and digits come off and are reattached, minor internals show, he's basically a relentless, super-powerful corpse bent on revenge and strutting around in his undies while snapping in and out of psychotic delusions.

The violence isn't the issue at all with this one, it's just a tad disturbing. It's like if you took the Clayface origin in the Batman: TAS, mashed it with Two-Face and dragged that out for a whole half hour instead of a couple of minutes. It reminded me a lot of Cronenberg's remake of The Fly.

Please, no more. The more I hear this episode described, the more pissed I get that Fox B S&P are keeping me form seeing it.

Do they know that there is a TMNT fanbase over 13?

This is the thing, TMNT is by nature a kids program. It's marketed towards kids primarily, otherwise we wouldn't have such a huge merch market for it. Sure, it caters for the long running fans as well, but the target audience for this show is clearly that 6-12 age group. These shows weren't made for the older fans, they would've been in mind during production, but i'm pretty sure if they were you'd be looking at something totally different that could probably only be screened on Adult Swim.

Complex and carefully woven story lines, dark themes, a ruthless murdering Shredder, lots of continuity. I think when this show was made, all demographics were kept in mind. If they wern't, I could gaurntee you this show would be more like Loonatics Unleashed.

This whole FF thing is the best example I can give. If they weren't targetting kids, then why is this happening?

This is exactly why we're freaking out to begin with - we're afraid that it'll CHANGE the awesomeness that the show already is, and change it into some turtley Winx Club.

Fast Forward doesnt impress me at all Im still not happy with the idea....

I think that If they don't want to air the Ep or sell it targeting kids , at least they should make it available and sell it as DVD on the official site so whoever wants to see it can

It is the parents that tend to make a huge statement on what their children can watch. Sometimes parents do not mind their kids watching the TMNT but they want the producers to make it less violent.

My parents allowed my brother and I watch the original series and we both grew up nicely and mature.

I'm not saying that they should apply censorship like they did with Insane in the Membrane of course

I saw it today and it was a little disgusting but not too over the top. Added a lot of depth to Baxter though.

But I've missed almost all of this season so I'm trying to piece together whats happened.

I just saw it. It was pretty good. I do have to agree with Turtle_in_the_Shell that the finger thing was gross though. Poor bastard was falling apart worse than Micheal Jackson in that episode.
