I have seen the future...and it is cliche.

Does 4Kids really think that turning the TMNT into the Jetsons will create interest in the franchise?

The animation was just plain awful, the future cliches are downright unbearable, and the new "high tech" TMNT just doesn't do it for me. Fast Forward is a disaster plain and simple.

I don't want to be a wet blanket on these boards, so I will refrain from further posting my venom towards this new series. If you hear from me again regarding FF, it's because something decent occurred. Needless to say, I don't expect to be posting anytime soon.

Consider me looking forward to 3/30/07 when the real TMNT will return, hopefully in full force!

Rat King, you got it straight. Cliche, this is now a show for 8 and under...
Every single joke is deja vu, the action is no more than what was already made a thousand time and the animation is quite 80's-esque.

Man, the 2003 show was like the ''metal'' version of tmnt, while this is the ''big pinky pop'' one. Atleast, I hope that the kids love it.

And about the turtles not getting emotional about Casey and April, well sure they still have high hopes of seeing them again soon. But also, this show wouldn't deal with ''death'' anymore. I'm pretty sure 4Kids won't show any tombstone or whatever they use in the future for that matter who would be directly linked to ''death''.

I feel more sorry for Veronica Taylor...she's a great April and she was the definitive 4Kids Ash Ketchum, in the course of just a few months, two of her best characters have been taken from her

Just to clarify, the 13 episodes of (the lost) season 5 were already done when work began on Fast Forward. There were never going to be 26 episodes, so it's not the first half of a season. It was written as 13 episodes of a single story arc from the beginning. Despite that, it is true that getting Fast Forward to air on time was a lot of work in a short amount of time. You'll be happy to know that the current main title sequence is only temporary. When the show re-premiers in September the real --all original -- main title will be attatched. Due to time constraints it wasn't completed by the early August air dates.

Sort of like perfecting the format as you get used to the rushed schedule? Nice to hear.

All the jokes from Seasons 2-3 were also deja vu. Mikey was consistently repetitive with his jokes in the early seasons, it's no different now.

You've seen 2 episodes. There are 24 more, that's a lot. Death was always handled fairly off screen in the old seasons aside from Tang Shen.

Once again, 4kids didn't decide to bring TMNT into the future. Playmates wanted to sell more toys and Laird decided the future was the safest bet.

That alien gal named Starling (is that her name) sounds a bit like April so perhaps Veronica Tayler got a role in FF. Serling is voiced by Marc Thompson (Casey Jones and Uncle Auggie)

Yea...I definatly don't like Uncle Darius. He's definatly evil and I totally suspect that he's
responsible for the death of Cody's father.

As for Starling. Nice to know there's a good gal in the show. She looks a bit neutrino-ish IMO. Altho she's super smart....

Anyways...this was an interesting ep...altho I felt it was a bit too short. Meh...So now we know where
they got the new weopons from. I just hope Splinter will do more than watch tv all day.

I really felt sorry for the Inuwashi Gungan. They are honorable warriors reduced to being Uncle Darius' slaves.

Oh and BTW... with that Bobby and Uncle Darius dressing like he's from the 18th century (plus the
somewhat British accent)....did the British take over the world or something??? Uncle Darius
somewhat resembled Watson from "Sherlock Holmes In The 22nd Century". I mean seriously.. Mutton Chops are in in the future?? WTF?

next week: Robots running amok...oh no...not that....anything..but that...

Eh it was okay. Nothing spectacular. Mike's silly battle armor thing fit though, he WOULD do something as silly....but hey, if the fell apart that easy, will their weapons as well? hehe

This episode was less humdrum than the series premiere. The animation looked less unfinished, but still not as good as 2K3. That whole opening scene ticked me off because it was counterproductive. They weren't training. What on Earth (it is still Earth, right?) were they doing that for? ...other than catching the attention of the ADD crowd?? I've often thought, even when I was young, that the videogames should take away points for senseless destruction of city property because it promotes vandalism. Now, this... I don't really see a problem with the blue girl. I thought the only thing annoying about Skyla or whoever was that hover-skate thing she was doing. Hyper-intelligent kids have to act like kids too, I guess.

Love interest for Cody, check. Wicked Step-moth-- err, Uncle, check. Lack of heavy emotion to appease the Standards & Practices people, check. Other than it being more formulaic than the mighty 2K3, I really don't see any reasons to give up on the show. It's still better than a lot of continuing cartoons out today. Unfortunately, the face of animation has been changed to politically correct merchandising again.

Sadly, I can't find anything on Cartoon Network that I like anymore except for the Adult Swim stuff. Aside from Ben 10 (I love superhero stories that take themselves seriously), it's all either boring or too childish for me. The middle ground has been eroded...

Forgot to mention something. Cody mentioned that April, Casey, and Donatello created O'Neil Tech.

So this could mean several things:

1: The turtles will eventually make it back to their time so Don could build all the fun stuff he saw in the future.

2: Somewhere out there are the future turtles.

3: The Turtles will live a normal human life.

But seriously... Casey helped create it? Wha?

First off, indeed the jokes were lame in the 2003 show. But that's it. The jokes, that's all. The rest was pretty intense and awsome. Even though I only saw 2 episodes, so far, I'm not impressed at all. I doubt that they will change the formula. Sure we are still to see the evil clones and other evil, wich might spice things up a bit. I sure hopes for the best, but we are far from that now. The only way we can really enjoy FF is by not comparing it to the 2k3 show. As its so different and inferior (for now), that it will just make it worst to compare the 2.

Second, for the ''death'' thing. In the 2003 show, we saw alot of situations where death was involved. Sure it was intense sometimes, but it was adding so much to the show in terms of emotion. I highly doubt that 4kids will try that again since ratings were dropping because parents didn't wanted to see that in a kid show, and kids are normally not too entertained when the action is dropping to make place for emotional and psychological issues.

And for the toys thing, kids are of course gonna want to buy them if the toon counterpart of the toy is dynamic and intense, instead of depressed and mad... I doubt that kids actually bought Leo figs, just to make him be depressed and mad while playing with it. Its just logic here.

OK I really enjoy today's episode and I'm shocked because I thought I'd hate this show! I'm just fine with this Uncle Darius is gonna be a big pain in the butt or is that a big butt in the pain..erm nevermind lol
I like those flying guys they remind me of Shredders or the Ninja Tribunal for some reason.
I really don't think Cody is that bad..but I can see him becoming annoying fast if all he does is get kidnaped every week....helloooo old toon April.
I'm glad that officer Biggles doesn't have a large part in the show....nuff said on that.
Splinter is still acting really weird in my book.
And I knew the moment I saw the blue girl and all the guys go gaga over her that I'd see allot of fans going uh I hope they don't turn her into a love interest. I mean honestly how old is she...that was kinda odd in the first place they like drooled over her.
I think I like the idea of Cody's uncle being a bad guy...And I don't think everything from the old show is gone BTW the attitudes seem pretty much the same....
My only major problem with this new series is the animation it's just really lazy looking even splinter looked like crap today....the only one who was animated well was Darius and he wasn't even on screen much.
I have to admit I laughed out loud when Mike hit Serling in the face with his new nunchucks and made his eye fall off I'm sorry to anyone who doesn't find that funny but it really was! Great ending in my book.
It's really got me wondering though if Serling knows Darius is watching them?
Makes me really wonder if Serlings good or not.
OO also noticed Silver Sentry's outfit in his collection today. Was there anything else new?
Anyone else Notice how Darius said something like "you need to stop looking at the past" is it me or were they saying that to the fans? I could be really wrong here but it just kinda sounded preachy when he said that.
Oh I don't know about any of you but when the Blue Girl goes to Mike "oh nice compensating for something?"
I was like I can't believe she just said that on this newer kid friendlier tmnt. I mean shesh lol.
I do like how the mech. ended up falling apart on him though then he got all depressed about it.
I'm also really happy they are giving reasons for everything..The new outfits & weapons.

Hmm perhaps that's why I enjoyed that season cause it breathed life into an otherwise stale series..and BTW his name is Lord Dregg.

I'm sure it's already been discussed off screen between the characters...they are family after all I'm sure they would tell one another at some point what happened when they each went off like that.
Also that would be nice and all but it doesn't really seem like they would have a place for graves here in this future..does it...Perhaps they just cremate body's in the future...but I really think we are getting to deep with a cartoon lol.

Sure, my pleasure . Seriously, what I was saying is that the show is now aimed at little kids. Just like the 80's show was. The 2K3 show was more mature, still aimed at kids no doubts, but still more mature. While FF is really trying to sell toys... Got my point ? FF is just not as mature as 2K3. I won't stop watching the show just yet, I'm still gonna watch it untill I find that it reached the bottom.

And I recommend to everyone (including myself) to do like I said earlier, and stop comparing FF to 2K3.

TV turtles have always been aimed at kids...no matter what you want to believe....the comics aren't.
Your telling everyone not to compare the shows but your really not taking your own advice.
I know it's hard to let go but this really isn't that different from the other show.
Even if it is totally different.

the time travel may have created a seperate time line, or the turtles may end up going back into time exactly when they left. that way they could say the turtles going through time is a part of their history and the reason the future didn't change is because everything is happening the way it is suppose to

I wonder if the Dark Turtles will be the adult Ninja Turtles from this point in time

Actually, it confirms that the Turtles do indeed get home someday, probably the second they left.

Don/April/Casey decide to form it in the present, after Don gets the idea from being the future.

Hey, this is how time travel works! :p

Puter, from one PR fan to another, I'm begging that you don't become the TMNT equivilant of Platniumred

...I doubt you'd ever go the route of "OMG, VBEST SEAPONZ EVERZ,, SLOANZ WORSHIPPERZ MUSTZ DIEZ" like he does, but you do seem to go apes*it whenever some says they hate this season's childish, badly animated and written direction so far, and I've seen little that could redeem or defend it, even with this episode.

Just knock it down a little.

I know Vernoica's still a part of the show, as she's a poster child for the company on any product they make and they use her regularly, it's just two of her best characters have vanished in the course of a few months, and it's a little unsettling to see her have to adapt with someone new that I could'nt really care about.

So Cody has a love interest, big whoop, Little Mr. Perfect just got extra irritant points

And once again, that is'nt an excuse I've seen Batman Beyond, I know this is'nt it, just a very botched oppertunity no matter who's writing or approving it. People dislike April's real origin where as I enjoy it, I dislike this whilst others enjoy it, nobody's perfect.
