Conversely, the film might please hardcore fans but fail to really gain an audience, and thus slowly fade away without much fanfare. Here's hoping it's the former.

Reputation system. Basically it's a popularity meter for each person, and can be used to give props or to throw rocks. I have never seen a single instance of it doing anything but harm on a fan site. It's really only useful for pro interest boards... like tech help boards.
